Easy to find a parking place mid week. One parking machine was very temperamental and did not give change! £3.80 for 2 hours was normal for this area. The beach was great - no dogs west towards Mudeford and dogs allowed going east towards Highcliffe. Very good for dogs swimming and having a good time.
Nearly always a parking spot here but on warm days and holiday season I'd advise to get there early although they do extend the parking into a small field during peak season. Only a short walk to the beach which is sandy with patches of stone. The beach hut cafe is nearby which does delicious food and drinks and also toilets nearby on the promenade.
1st October onwards £0.90 for 12:hrs parking, generous by Dorset standards.
Steamer Point, perfect for access east to Highcliffe Castle either along the top of the clifftop along the beach. Turning West it's the amazing Avon Beach first, heading towards Mudeford it's a 1/2 prom walk in the fresh air around the inner part of the Christchurch Bay. Cafes, sea food, sand, boats, surfing, beachhuts, and a pub right at the end with views to the 1,000 year old Christchurch Abbey.

Good car park close to the beach between Mudeford and Highcliffe. Not too expensive. Can be a wait for spaces on sunny days so get there early.
A great place for a walk along the cliff or the beach and interesting historic site of SRDE.
Quite easy to find, there are two sections, one with marked spaces, and an overflow on grass. Easy to pay with Ringo. We got there at about 10am during an August weekday and it was relatively quiet, but when we came back it was nearly full.
This was an impromptu visit... we were only going to have lunch... but then spotted the walk to Highcliffe Castle, about 20mins. It was a bit muddy... but that just added to the fun! We returned via the beach. We are local... but had not done this walk... had been either end and not joined in the middle. We will be going back soon...
Beautiful and often quiet beach. Cafe is great, tasty food at very reasonable prices. Good ice cream too. Toilets were clean.
