Kumartuli is the traditional potter's quarter in west bengal. The main attraction of this place is idol making, its really very interesting to see the idol making process and the artisans work. ❤️

A small locality in Kolkata which was originally known as Coomartolly is a unique potter’s quarter in the northern part of the city of joy. The place is famous for its expertise with sculpting Indian Gods and Goddesses out of clay for different festivals in West Bengal throughout the year. They also export their idols to other countries and communities. The name of the famous street with the idol merchants is known as Banamali Sarkar Street. There’s a famous Hindu temple named Dhakeshwari Mata Temple nearby.

This is one of my go to places while visiting Durga Pujo in North Kolkata. This time they had a theme celebrating all workers. I liked this pujo quite much though the crowd control could be better.

I visited the place my trip to Kolkata and Durga Pooja. The whole area has a big park where they had organised the pandal and it was really beautiful. Every year they come with such unique themes. Apart from the park, you can also visit ghat which is just nearby and sip cup of tea there and feel the breeze of the river. After that, you can also walk around the streets of Kumartuli and its a must to-do list. This is the street where all the idols of Durga maa are made and designed in Kolkata. You will get the vibes of the festival in the street. You can watch them making the sculpture and statues of the Goddess. One can savour the beauty of old buildings and houses which are still there since 18the century. Its really great to feel the old vibes of the city since this is the most centre point of Kolkata. I visited during the festive time and missed visiting in day time hours.
Although one is not allowed to enter their shop especially women but you can watch it from outside which is enthralling. Also enjoy the street food there.
There is no ticket to any of these areas. I am not sure about the park since I went during the Pooja.

This is one of the famous durga pujo in North Kolkata. The place , the ambience of old North Kolkata remembered something , feel something us. Every year they organised beautifully with new theme. Pandel is well decorated and pratima is also made by some fabulous artist.

they always do nice concepts also nice ambience, calm peaceful theme with awesome idol. I can't take off my eyes from the idol face. all are very beautifully arranged and showcased here. Also, there is a big mela outside pandal with lots of rides, stalls and many more. complete full package for both enjoying and experiencing a good puja. I try to never miss this puja every year. But in this yer to avoid a rush, I completed it on choturthi. it was awesome.

They came up with quite a good theme in this year's Durga Puja, though I liked the exterior more than the interior. A must visit place in Kolkata as they are one of the best to do it.

2023, this year no exception to a wonderful theme.
