Iconic place of Kolkata as it has Nimtala Crematorium, the oldest one in India. Also, there is Bhutnath Temple where lord Shiva is worshipped. This place is always alive with hearses coming to the crematorium to burn their loved ones after death and for devotees coming to offer prayer to Bhutnath Temple.
The ghat is beside the nimtala samsan and baba bhootnaath mandir . The ghat is attractable and well managed . I visited on 25 october for durga pratima bisarjan .. The whole process were safely organised by KMC and kolkata police. And the process going on smoothly..
