This please needs a bit of clean up, actually a nice place!

It seems like a great initiative and a cool improvement to train stations that should be emulated the world over...

But why is it fenced off and out of bounds? And it needs a bit more care since the plants look a little neglected.

A tiny bit of extra thought and attention would make this a lovely refuge for travellers.

Relatively to the train station, the greenhouse of Atocha is a recent addition to the most important train station in Madrid. It acts as a large centerpiece where users can buy tickets, or have a coffee and a snack while waiting for their trains to depart. It's a pleasant environment that helps travelers relax before their departures.

Sadly we couldn't get into the garden to see the frogs in the pond and the cafes that surround it are an overpriced, mediocre disappointment. If you're thinking it might be something nice like the St Pancras refurbishment, you are going to be very disappointed. It's a bit tricky to get into but persevere as it's still better than hanging out on the railway concourse.

Pleasantly surprised by the effort put into making this huge train station look good.

Loved it. Even though the access was closed to the center of the botanical garden, we could still walk around it and enjoy the beautiful plants inside the central station.

It is open from 10.30 AM to 3.30 PM

Probably the most beautiful train station I have visited so far and I been all over Europe. Jungle in the middle of station is amazing. Unfortunately twice I came there it was "closed" so I couldn't walk under the palms. I was there after 8pm both times so maybe come earlier.

Nice place. A green house inside a train station. Quite unique place, you don't see this everywhere. Definitely worth a short visit.
