The customer service was very good, the cashier was kind and helpful. I just came in for a bottle of water but the experience was still good.

I love this spot. Small delicious coffee shop that puts the milky melancholy of Starbucks to shame. Just walk away from that Starbucks on the corner and a half block away will you be greeted with super friendly service and real coffee and espresso. It will soon become your favorite spot. And they will remember you.
Wonderful, energetic service restores your faith in NYC! Long Live Matto!

Everything I've ever tried from Matto has been fresh and high-quality. Just two downsides: the app and pricing can be a bit confusing (though the assistants are usually v helpful); and they've stopped carrying one sweet I used to love (sort of an almond wafer coated with chocolate)

I’m sure the regular coffee is OK but I had a really nasty “banana oat latte” that was really a banana smoothie… like with a whole banana in it… With huge chunks of ice and date in the bottom not properly blended. When I order an iced latte, I don’t want a whole smoothie and certainly not a properly blended one. I almost never throw coffee out but I really couldn’t stomach this and I couldn’t drink it with a straw anyway because they were such large chunks. Barista was pleasant and service was fast so props for that. I might give them another chance and try a regular drink.

I found out about this shop on Instagram where they advertise they sell everything for $2.50. I went excited to try a new coffee shop. I arrived at 4:38pm they close at 5pm. There was a sign on the door the worker would be back in 5 minutes. The female worker opened the door at 4:45pm, she was still having a conversation on her airpods. I ordered a croissant and asked if she could warm it up. She said the oven was already off. I asked for butter she said they had none because they were closing soon. I ordered two drinks and two pastries. The total was more than expected. I asked and it was then she told me everything is $3.50. Unless you order through their app then it's $2.50 each. There are no prices on any items in the store and all the signs outside the store say everything is $2.50. Once I paid for my items at the higher price of $3.50 each. I asked if I could sit in the shop for 5 minutes it was 4:50pm at this time. She rolled her eyes so hard . Needless to say I did not sit and I will not return. The employee had no type of customer service skills. Just unhelpful and rude all around.

I ordered an almond croissant and cold chai latte … the croissant was good and for a good price of $2.5 but the coffee was ok ok. Overall good place and the price is too low when you pay through the app.

Great Costumer service from the barista. Best price on lattes and its pretty decent. They have non-dairy options. Place needs some updates. walls are in unfinished. Its a bit run down so better for takeout. $1.00 more for everything if you don’t have the app. So get it if you want to save, but it will ask you to load up $10. Overall a great spot to grab and go decent coffee at a cheap price.

Surprisingly one of the better coffee places in New York. Iced coffee was $2.50 (with the app) for a 16 oz and was quite smooth. Barista was friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised and will recommend that my friends come in the future.
