We really enjoy taking our kids to Lake Gregory. They learned at a young age how fish and they love it there. There are paths so you can easily hike around the lake and find a perfect place to fish. I also see that they have a beach area with floating activities for the whole family to enjoy. That is our next stop!
Beautiful lake area with water games for the children and picnic tables for the family to have a wonderful time.
There's been an algae bloom since about a week ago. It's progressively gotten worse. The smaller fish are getting choked out. As I walked around the lake, several visitors were also commenting on the condition of the lake. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone can do anything about it. Hope it clears up soon.
A really nice lake to relax and unwind, fish, or kayak/paddle board/etc.
There is a pavilion on the lake where there is a small cafe, and you can rent paddle boats or row boats.
There is also a water slide park on one end of the lake with a small beach, a dog park, another beach with restrooms, and plenty of parking. You will have to pay for parking with the ParkMobile app. All day parking costs about $7 or $8.
There are grocery stores and restaurants close by, too.

I love the Ambience out here. I walk around the lake all the time. There's fishing and boating fun. You can have here. There's a beach area with sand, water rides. It's always packed around the summer months. Due to the many events that go on. They also stock the lake with fish around April. Nice big fish.
Great place for beginner hikers. They also have branches around the lake to sit and catch a break. I suggest parking in the lots and paying the parking fee, it’s better to be safe and secure.
The lake was beautiful yesterday. The water level was up and it looked clearer than in a long time. People were catching fish. It was a perfect day there.
This lake offers a serene escape into nature's beauty, surrounded by picturesque scenery that adds a touch of tranquility to the atmosphere. The fishing here was incredible!
The lake itself is a reflective haven, mirroring the surrounding landscape in its placid waters. Lush greenery, perhaps accompanied by distant mountains or a clear blue sky, forms the backdrop to this aquatic gem. Whether you're casting a line from the shore or navigating the waters, the visual feast provided by the surrounding nature transforms the outing into a therapeutic escape.
Despite the limited success on finding a quiet little spot due to the holiday influx, the allure of the lake and the surrounding scenery made it a day well spent. The beauty of the day, coupled with the peaceful ambiance of the lake, turned what might have been a fishing trip into a rejuvenating communion with nature—a reminder that the journey itself can be as rewarding as the destination.

Such a great area for an easy 4mile walk around the lake. Stop halfway for a boat ride along the lake. If you are going to rent a canoe I recommend starting earlier in the day. Mid afternoon can bring strong wind. I went mid-October and the area was not crowded. I heard from many people that it can get really crowded in the summer. With that being said, all the activities described sound like a fun family outing. It is amazing how close to LA this little mountain town is and how far from the bustle of the city I felt. Great way to detox from the city and recharge.
What a Beautiful lake. I went to fish, but it has a very nice walking trail. Its so beautiful.
Nice lake with plenty to do for the whole family in the summer. Enjoy sitting lakeside in my car or water front. There’s fishing and ducks to watch. Unfortunately there’s also a gate with green mesh along the shoreline right now. Real bummer but I’m sure it serves a purpose.

* Fishing for a $10 fee
* Parking is $2 for the first hour and $1 each additional dollar with the daily maximum being $10
* Multiple dog parks throughout
* Restrooms available
* Swim beach
* Hiking and biking
* Kayaking, paddle boating, float tubing, etc
What a fun and great place to visit for the whole family. Dog friendly is a huge plus. Dogs must be on leash when not in the dog parks. You can walk the entire lake via trails and roads. There are many spots for fishing and chillin'. I've never been here at night, but it must be so beautiful. There's also a free trolley for the lake area. At least for the weekend.

Regarding the inflatable zone. ONE ATTENDANT is admitting the online ticket holders at the gate. A thousand people in line. ONE attendant. (See photo of line) ONE person is also checking all coolers for alcohol. The checking process is incredibly slow and inefficient. We have been in line 30 minutes on blazing asphalt with no shade and moved about half way to the entrance. So it looks like we will miss first hour of play time.
Meanwhile the line for the walk up ticket windows has about 30 people and they are let in (a separate gate, cutting line) very quickly.
It’s a county park. Government sloth employees mindset. DMV meets water park FTW!!!
Update: Per the Ranger I spoke with, swimming is PROHIBITED in the ENTIRE lake except at the paid water park area. You can only enjoy swimming for a fee and long wait in line. Nature is heavily regulated here.
Update: there is also an hour line to play on the inflatables after the park entry line (photo)👍👍

Lake Gregory is a beautiful place to visit, easy to get to with parking right on the shoreline at the northern end and though I've never caught a fish there it's fun to try while cooling off in the water!
There's a hiking trail all the way around the lake and a water park at the southern end that's great for everyone!
I only gave it a 4 star because it can get a little windy at times but still worth the drive up the mountain!

We had the best time yesterday!! We packed our lunch and brought our own umbrella and blankets! Kids had fun climbing and swimming on the jumpers! This place is amazing!
