Acadia Lobster Cruise

We got to go out with Jason yesterday on his first cruise of the season. We had an absolute blast. Jason is both personable and a great teacher. We learned alot about lobstering and then we had the best meal on the boat moored up the sound. I Highly recommend it. This was the highlight of our whole week exploring Maine.

Captain Jason was very informative and fun. Dinner was right out of the ocean with corn and blueberry pie. Got to see seals also. Highly recommend this cruise. Thank you for a great experience.

I recently had the most unforgettable experience aboard the Acadia Lobster Cruise in Maine, and I cannot praise it enough! From start to finish, this cruise exceeded all my expectations and provided me with memories that will last a lifetime.
First and foremost, Jason was exceptional. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the local marine life and the fascinating lobster fishing industry but also friendly and approachable. He was more than happy to answer any questions we had and shared captivating stories about the area's history and lobstering traditions.
The cruise itself was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. The boat was comfortable and well-maintained, providing ample seating and unobstructed views of the stunning Maine coastline. As we set sail, the breathtaking scenery unfolded before our eyes, and the salty sea breeze filled the air, adding to the overall ambiance of the journey.
One of the highlights, of course, was the lobster-catching demonstration. It was such a unique experience to witness the work up close and personal, and my dad even got to haul in traps while Jason explained the intricacies of the trade. Being able to hold and touch live lobsters was a thrilling hands-on experience I'll cherish forever.
But the pinnacle of the cruise was the lobster feast itself. The fresh and succulent lobsters, cooked to perfection on board, were a true delicacy. The entire meal was delectable, accompanied by great personality and views that stretched on for miles. Even those in our group who were less knowledgeable about eating lobster fell in love with the flavors and left the table satisfied, with my brother in-law going so far as to try the lobster brains.
Throughout the journey, Jason’s expertise and passion for the region were evident. His commentary added depth and meaning to the sights we encountered, and he ensured the safety and comfort of everyone on board.

Our best experience on Mt Desert island! Jason was a great captain and answered every question we had (which were many!) about lobster fishing. He had us doing every part of the whole experience hands on; hooking the traps, measuring the lobsters, banding, and we even caught a few crabs! Fantastic experience.

The highlight of our Maine vacation by far! Jason (and Sadie, his cute first mate) was super fun to fish with and answered all of our questions about lobsters and the industry. Then we had the BEST lobster meal and finished it off with blueberry pie. Thanks Jason!

This is the best tour on Mount Desert Island and I cannot recommend it enough. It was also the best lobster dinner that we ever had. Captain Jason has so much first hand knowledge of the lobster fishing life and he shared it with such enthusiasm he had my 12 year old son ready to sign up. Talk about hands on learning, he taught my son how to pull and bait traps and what kind of bait to use. Our traps didn’t have enough for our lobster dinner but he had some new shell lobsters that he brought just in case. We had never tasted “shedders” as he called them, so delicious. He parked the boat in this beautiful cove and we had an awesome feast including corn on the cob and homemade blueberry pie. My daughter said the blueberry pie had the perfect level of sweetness and the lightest flakiest crust you’ve ever tasted. If you only time for one tour at Acadia, do this one.

Captain Jason’s tour was my favorite part of our Maine vacation. My husband and I would love to do it again. It was so fun learning about the lobsters and traps and then enjoying them right there on the boat!
