It's great. Nature is awesome. Protect our public lands. Take nothing but pictures leave nothing but footprints. Don't feed the wildlife.
Originally, I had planned to watch the sunrise from here, but I couldn't shake the feeling that there are countless other beautiful spots atop these high mountains. Therefore, without lingering too long, I decided to press on to the next destination.
Great place to stop. If you're hunting for sunrise, I would assume that this is a November December time frame in terms of when the sun rises over these mountains
Beautiful vista and a nice glimpse of the mountains. Not too far up on the twisty roads.
The scenery here is amazing! The best part is that I got engaged here yesterday! So this spot will forever be amazing to me!
Nice little overlook looking out over Walnut Cove. This overlook provides a southern directional view towards Mills River. You may notice a golf course in the cove which is a part of The Cliffs. There's not a whole lot of room but it's an easy stop and a nice view. Elevation - 2,920 feet.
A very nice portion of the Parkway to pull off and take in the mountains; however recent development has taken away some of the natural beauty of the scenery.
