Meroddi Galata Flats

I didn't see a sign of a one-star hotel here, it's not even a hostel or an inn. It's a series of old buildings over 50 years old that smell inside the corridor. I had booked many hotels until now, but the wrong comments of my friends made me wrong. Of course, it goes without saying that the staff of the place provide more services to those who come to the hotel with beautiful women, they are sick and unhealthy people. I recommend all my friends to this place with their families. Don't go in a bad way because you pay money here and you will be insulted and your family will be looked down upon! Friends, there are no honest and committed managers and personnel here, and there are no more than fraudsters and swindlers!
Here, they want your money, insult you,
and attack your family!

The worst experience ever! STAY AWAY. BED BUGS!
I did a big mistake to book their our family reunion. I'm a seasoned traveler. But this is my first time dealing with a service like that. Be aware they are giving you a whatsapp number to contact and the contact person does not speak any english, very rude and you have beg him to bring you stuff like towels, shampoos and so on (we were staying for 9 days, we needed it), he is also answering within 2-3 days. On the 2nd day of our stay, we noticed bites on my husband and myself. We contacted the property and they answered and started acting only 4 days after when our bodies were covered with bites. We were scared to bring these insects on our clothes and in bags, so we agreed on their offer to laundry all of it. The state of our cloth, when returned after laundry, was awful. So now we have a severe reaction and huge red marks all over our bodies after bites and on top of that our clothes destroyed, smelly, has some stains. When we were dealing with the issue finally, we were promised a lot of things to fix it and to leave us happy at the end, but it was nothing but words, unfortunately.

First of all, it takes place in very good location, very close to Istiklal Street and Galata Tower, in a very central location. It is very easy to reach different points, the metro is only 1-2 minutes away. The staff were very attentive, they were very helpful with all our questions. It was very clean and organized, I would definitely recommend it.

They canceled reservation 1 day prior to arrival with the excuse that credit card is not valid. I did update credit card 3 times and went further ahead and asked them to pls not cancel it as I would have made payment by bank transfer or western union. Very dissappointed.

This hotel was absolutely great. The rooms were very clean, they gave us anything we wanted. Also, every morning they would come to breakfast room and asked us do we want anything and is everything okay. The staff were great, very helpful and always smilling. Also, it is located 3 minutes away from Galata tower and about 10 minutes from metro station and tram station. The breakfast is also really good, it doesn’t matter if you go first or last one, you will always have enough food to eat. I would highly recommend this hotel to all of you.

The only good thing is the location, the rest are the worst ever
Booked 2 apartments for 12 peoples, an annual reunion, yet they gave us 2 apartments 4 building apart
When ask for a closer apartment, the manager told me to either take it or leave
Its a historical building, so the renovated pics are not very accurate.
If decide to stay there make sure to send a reminder message on daily bases regarding your needs, like shampoo refills and so on, otherwise they wont send them
The other thing to keep in mind if traveling with elderlies or kids is that there are old spiral stairs, not safe for elderly or kids

In short, if you book a flat here, you would ruin your vacation for yourself and your loved ones, so do yourself a favor, and avoid this property.

The address provided in the booking dot com is not the receptionist office, so you might wander around for a while to find the actual place! One of the staff was very rude and couldn’t communicate, and as a result he changed our reservation as he pleased to a couple of worse flats, but he didn’t deduct the price (basically robbing us). When we confronted him, he was very rude and in the middle of the night, he asked me to solve the issue with booking dot com which I did. One of the flats were smelly, cold and under the ground (even though we were promised sea view flats!), so we cancelled that flat and had to find another hotel.

this was one of my worst experiences I have ever had, and wouldn’t recommend Meroddi Galata flats at all.

Avoid Dauria Flats!

In November 2021 I booked 7 rooms at Dauria Flats for a group of 36 people for 3 nights for the end of May 2022. To my surprise, 2 days before our arrival, Dauria stated that they were unable to process my credit card. After submitting a new credit card within 15 minutes after receiving the 'card declined' message, Dauria cancelled the booking. I am absolutely certain that both credit cards are working (Mastercard and Visa) however, Dauria still cancelled the booking 12 hours later. Although I had 24 hours to update my payment details, Dauria cancelled after 12 hours. This tells me that they were determined to cancel my booking anyways. All in all, a terrible excuse by Dauria to dodge guests.
Interestingly, weeks prior to our arrival, I was in good contact with Dauria Flats and was even informed of the exact rooms that were appointed to my reservation. Still, Dauria cancelled on very short notice. It was a nightmare to find accommodation for 36 people 2 days before arriving in Istanbul.
