Right in front of the church. Easy to find, but it's usually surrounded by parked cars.
The column was built to commemorate the end of the plague epidemic in the 18th century.
A sculpture created to show the gratitude for the end of epidemy. A nice and interesting monument located near the Lesser Town.
Why did the Christians made columns of the trinity? Because the Romans did it first! During the roman Empire, each emperor got a column.
This inspired christians of the 15th through thw 17th century to make their own religious christian column. Most of the columns had the virgin mary on it but they became quite ornate throughout the ages. This column is decorated with a statue of the Holy Trinity and the Czech patron saints. Three fountains around the column symbolise the sources of life, mercy and salvation.
It was made around 1715 and ad you can tell.. It is used mainly as a car park area.

Die Prager Innenstadt ist immer eine Reise wert. Wunderschöne Plätze und Ecken. Genug Geld muss man einpacken, wenn man das ein oder andere Museum oder so besuchen möchte. Aber es lohnt auf jeden Fall.
The column is in the vicinity of St. Nicholas Church, down the road from Charles Bridge. We happened to pass by it and I thought it looked interesting. It was in the middle of the road on an island, just to the side of the church.
The Holy Trinity Column is a column that celebrates the Christian Holy Trinity, a very popular subject in Czech Republic and Slovakia. Every town or city seems to have one and Prague is no exception. The depiction of the Trinity is fairly standard, but the column is also embellished with a great many sculptures of saints below the Trinity. The column also features fountains around each of the four sides of the base.
The design of the column is different from most columns of this type and it’s worth a look if in the Mala Strana district below Prague castle. The column is also just in front of the St Nicholas Church, which is itself a great Baroque Church. Worth a look.
