Really marvelled by the interior architecture. Great place to visit even for non Muslims just to admire the intricate details of the architecture. Has a beautiful garden where you can walk around. Parking can be a problem for Taraweeh and Jumah prayers for elders and family with small kids as they will have to walk a little to get in the masjid.
Would be good if they can put a map of the masjid at all entrances to easily know where is what like Wudu, toilet, men and women prayer areas.

The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is one of the best places to visit in Oman. It is majestic and rich in culture. I was amazed by the vast carpet inside and the stunning chandeliers. The place is breathtaking, from the beautiful exterior to the detailed, shimmering interior. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you are a tourist in Oman. Just a reminder: when you plan to visit, make sure to wear modest clothing and avoid wearing shorts. For ladies, it's required to wear a hijab. This is not just a tourist spot but also a holy and religious place, so we should respect their policies.

This mosque is absolutely mind blowing... The sheer attention to details is extraordinary, the fact that the whole prayer room is covered with a single rug is very interesting. Just so you know, you do t have to be a Muslim to visit this amazing work of creativity, you can visit anytime before 11am.

Outstanding architecture and absolute beauty. 🤩It was very neat and clean as it’s apparent that it’s given enough care.
Omanian are so lovely and welcoming people.
IMO, the place needs to be treated more as a prayer area than a touristic site though. 😅

Outstanding architecture!
Personally, I was most impressed by the ceramics in the interior.
Despite the fact that my partner and I arrived at the mosque half an hour before closing time, we were welcomed very nicely and the friendly guide told us many interesting things.
When you are there, do not refuse the invitation of the volunteers from the Information Centre, who try to tell every visitor as much as they can about Islam, but they do not do it in an intrusive way and are open to discussing even different views on their religion.

The main prayer hall is an awe-inspiring space that can accommodate up to 20,000 worshippers. It features a spectacular chandelier, made of Swarovski crystals, which is one of the largest in the world, and a massive hand-woven carpet that took four years to complete, making it a masterpiece in its own right.

One of the most striking features of the mosque is its intricate wall tiles. These tiles are an exceptional example of Islamic art, showcasing detailed geometric patterns and vibrant colors that reflect traditional Omani craftsmanship. The exterior walls are adorned with stunning ceramic tiles that exhibit a blend of turquoise, blue, and gold hues, creating a mesmerizing visual effect. Inside, the walls feature elaborate mosaics and calligraphy that depict verses from the Quran, adding a profound spiritual dimension to the visual beauty.

The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is a must-see for any visitor to Muscat, Oman. This architectural marvel isn't just the largest mosque in Oman, it's a stunning blend of Islamic, Omani, and modern design.
When visiting, remember to dress modestly. This means covering your shoulders and knees for both men and women.

While the mosque itself isn't accessible on Fridays and weekends for non-Muslims, the gardens in front are a lovely spot for an evening stroll. Take in the beauty of the fresh flowers and lush trees for a peaceful moment.

No need to worry about parking - a large lot is available for visitors.

A very beautiful and grand Mosque indeed! Friday prayer timings are between 12-12.30pm. There is parking on the road sides. Lack of shade which may leave you feeling hot if you stay too long in the mosque while exploring. Other than that the mosque is a wonder and very beautiful. Definitely a must visit.

One of the most beautiful mosques I've ever visited!! The area is huge and the architecture both inside and outside is marvellous!! The main hall is huge and has beautiful chandeliers with central chandelier being very big and extremely beautifully designed. The design of the roof is breathtaking. The imam had a really beautiful voice and praying maghrib there was an amazing experience in itself. Over all would highly recommend everyone coming to Muscat to pay a visit!
