The Royal Opera House in Muscat is a beautiful place to visit. Walking around the outside, I was captivated by the stunning structure and the exquisite wood ceilings. Although I didn't have the opportunity to visit inside, the exterior alone was impressive and showcased the building's grandeur and elegance. It's definitely worth a visit to appreciate its architectural beauty. Highly recommended!

Nice building but. If your not planning to go in theres not much to see. Bonus parking is free and id recommend parking it on ground floor due to sun and heat. Also worth going in the night for good pictures

Lucky enough to get a ticket for a show on our visit. They apparently sold out online however if you come here, they might have some stand by tickets to sell. Same price.

You can have a tour of the place while you are there on a separate ticket. It’s a short tour and not that interesting. If you ask, they might just let you walk around.

The opera we saw is Turkish dance and it would so good. The sounds in the opera makes the music comes to live.

In 2001, Sultan Qaboos decided to build an opera house in Oman’s capital.

London architects were commissioned to build the opera house, which began construction in 2007. After four years of construction the Royal Opera House Muscat, whose name was inspired by the Royal Opera House in London, opened in autumn 2011.

Today, the Royal Opera House Muscat hosts a diverse program that includes not just opera but also Arabic jazz, tango and performances for children.
During a visit to the opera house for shows, Omanis traditionally wear their national costumes, while foreign guests appear in formal wear.

The Muscat Opera House is set on 80 acres of land and the modern, Omani architectural style combines different traditions and makes the building look like a palace of the Arabian Nights. The interior is furnished with marble floors and is adorned with genuine Omani handicrafts. The theater space, decorated in reds and golds, accommodates 1,100 guests!

Unfortunately it was closed when we got there so make sure to come before 4pm to see the inside of the Opera house but stay long enough to see the beautiful architecture from the outside when the sun sets.

The area is much better at night. There are nearby restaurants/bars. The opera house itself is amazing! I didn’t see a show, but the exterior is amazing

Aamir Wao its easy and wonderful
We went there on 19/09/2023.
It was a great experience at Royal Opera House, we went ok weekdays not too crowded but due to rehearsal we couldn’t made it to auditorium but they allow us gallery area which cost us 1 OMR per person.

As you enter you have to undergo security scanning. Counter staff was so polite and cooperative.

The gentleman man who guide us and gave information was really professional and his English was best so you can easily understand. You can ask questions and even they will be more happy to assist for any further information. They will take photos of you and I think they are best at it.
