Easy to get to and a nice little walk with big views! I loved seeing the distant horizons. The weather is quite accommodating right now too! (April sunny day)

Beautiful views of Reno! There's lots of rocks on the path, the incline was steep so it was alittle rough, but overall super nice and quick.

The road up to the trailhead feels like a rural back road as it twists up the mountain. It's easy to forget that your in the middle of a city. The trail itself is very rocky. I'd imagine biking and stroller use would be difficult. Lots of picnic tables and great views from the top of Lookout peak.

My favorite local trailhead. It’s only a few minutes away from downtown or south Reno, near the airport. The parking/trailhead area is near the top of Rattlesnake Mountain in Reno. It’s an isolated elevation, which means fantastic views in all directions, all times of day. Many different trails branch out from this trailhead, including challenging climbs and easy strolls. Many dog owners walk here, but the trails are almost never crowded. I was disappointed recently to see that they removed the porta potty from the parking area. Caveats: there is zero shade, so bring water, etc. Many of the trails are rocky, so wear sturdy footgear and maybe bring a hiking stick. And the wind can get fierce up there.

Nice short but interesting trails.
Good signage and a good parking area.
Beyond that, any natural area is what a visitor makes it. We had fun...

A close city trail suitable for a quick hike. Trails can be ice covered to snow packed to muddy depending on the amount of traffic since last snowfall.

This 2 mile scenic loop is an easy hike and the view from the top of the Rattlesnake mountain is beautiful. You get to watch the city view and the airport right in front with airplanes landing and flying by pretty close. Careful while going up the hill as it’s steep and full of rocks. I’d recommend wearing proper shoes and outfit as it’s windy. Overall, very refreshing hike.

Loved this central Reno trail system! How nice to have quick easy access to some dessert trails and views. There are four covered picnic tables and a porta-potty and a garbage can. Good amount of parking and trails on both sides of the road.
