Our goal was to reach Punta de Teno, but the road was closed as we assumed due to strong wind and we found out why when we walked a bit towards Mirador Punta del Fraile, with every minute the walls of rocks became higher and more vertical and the noise of the wind on this section was truly amazing but not the sounds of falling stones from above. Well, there wasn't even a place to hide because the road literally hung over the cliff... The wind was really crazy here that day. Moreover, the time to reach the destination by car would increase from 8 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. a walk in beautiful landscapes, but with stonefall.
A must-see place to cycle in Tenerife. No traffic except for the public bus and taxis, and there aren’t many.
Lovely place, not that popular but we had no idea that you can’t drive the road with the car from certain hours so we had to walk, later found out there is a bus. Besides that stunning views and very relaxing.
This is the best thing I did in Tenerife. Rent a bike and ride on this road, it is surreal! Such a pity that it isn't advertised better. We've found it by chance when we decided to ride along the coast, had no idea there is this road at such high altitude.
Wonderful views of the Atlantic ocean and the volcanic hills all around. A pretty steep climb for those not used to it!
We had our lunch break here after 2h walk and it was fantastic, the scenery is surreal!
On the way to Punta de Teno, don't miss out on this view point! Especially in the evening light this the color turn warm and pastel, painting the surrounding lava rock in different shade of red and brown. Magical place with great view on the ocean & coast lines.
