Julian Barsotti's Italian fare is served in a spare, modern setting with nods to a corner grocery.

The food was very good. You get a nice sized portion as well. Great drinks from the bar and a friendly staff. I definitely plan to return to try more from the menu.
This little restaurant is absolutely the perfect place for a nice date night! The food is delicious and the drinks were amazing! My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and each of the bartenders were so friendly and attentive to us! We will definitely be going back!
Casual, comfortable, calamari...
Actually the calamari was the downfall. It's rare I'll ever dislike a calamari fritti, however on this day, it was crunchy, like eating a crispy wonton crunchy... Captain Crunch without milk crunchy...which would be a solid thing if the calamari pieces didn't seem to be the bottom of the barrel variety. Each bite left me wondering if I was actually eating calamari or just batter shaped like calamari...a rather peculiar feeling.
But, now onto the good stuff...
The ricotta with garlic bread was delicious and understandably a favorite, as were the ravioli fritti with side of red sauce. The creste with Sunday gravy was nice, but I've got an Italian wife who would give you a run for your money.
The meatball hero is the star of this dissertation. Just enough meatball, slabbed with mozzarella and sauce on a perfectly crispy bread. 🤌
Looking forward to coming back to try more.

If you’re in the mood for some really fantastic Italian food in the Highland Park area of Dallas I highly recommend Barsotti’s. Sister restaurant of Nonna. Food and wine price points are very reasonable.
Reboot of the former Carbone’s restaurant picks up significantly improved digs that are worthy of the great Italian food that comes out of the kitchen. Pastas and sandwiches are great across the board, and I especially like the Antipasti Salad. Service was a little confused on my last visit. It seemed like stations weren’t ready for service and there was a bit of an issue with everyone understanding their assignments, but maybe that will improve with time. Great place to grab a quick bite for lunch or a casual family dinner.
Mostly the same wonderful menu. Fantastic new interior design with a new big bar and plenty of seating. Will be back regularly. Great for dining solo or with friends and family. Best arancini I’ve ever had in Dallas. Killer wine list with good bottle prices.
Carbone’s is a family favorite restaurant that we frequent at least once a week. Our kids have the ceasar and the Sunday Gravy and we usually have a pasta or one of their delicious sandwiches. Anything on the menu is super delicious. The service is always very friendly and excellent. We highly recommend for anyone wanting super fresh Italian.
This was our 1st visit! We were hungry for some good Italian cuisine. Well this neat quaint restaurant did not disappoint. All the wonderful flavors of Italy!!
We (3 of us) enjoyed the shrimp scampi a light but flavorful dish, the Tortellini Vodka was delicious, creamy & cooked to perfection! We also enjoyed the Create Sunday Gravy!!!! The star of the show...all excellent recommendations for our wonderful & knowledgeable waiter Brock. Ended our meal with a fluffy creamy cheesecake.
Thank you Brock for your wonderful service and recommendations! We will be back!
