My family moved to Philly a few years ago and we started looking for a church that aligned with our values in what a church should be. Unfortunately, a lot of churches we visited had a very consumerist approach to church where they assumed attendees were looking to be entertained or enlightened. We didn't really care for churches that wanted to put on a show for us. We were also not interested in attending a church that focused too much on defining who they were through a lengthy and detailed statement of beliefs.

We were glad to have stumbled upon Resurrection Church. They focus more on shared practices as opposed to dogma. You won't hear much, if any, "politics" from the pulpit or even being discussed by the pastors or congregation--not because they don't care or don't see how faith is relevant, but I think it's a healthy recognition that we should be captivated by the person of Jesus as opposed to some political figure or party.

Resurrection has a liturgical service. You can dress however you want--some people wear dress clothes every week, others wear t-shirts and shorts. Coffee and donuts after service every week to meet people. Highly recommend visiting if you're looking for a church!

Very good Church service, welcoming staff and they provide many amazing services to the community

They feed the homeless and once in a while they show a movie. The reason for the 1 star review is EVERY WEDDING they schedule, they schedule it on Saturday's and cancel the movie. They do it on purpose. They could schedule weddings on different days but they don't. They're saying who cares about the homeless in the process. So they'd rather have the homeless out on the streets getting into trouble than to keep them off the streets when they have these Saturday weddings.

The people are warm and friendly, and they strive to live and present the gospel of Christ thru programs and events designed to reach out to their neighbors, regardless of who they are. The church has just celebrated ten years of ministry, and are currently worshipping in the historic First Baptist Church of Philadelphia on 17th and Sansom. Check them out!

A welcoming church. Edifying sermon by the Pastor Stephen.
A Bible preaching church. Will definitely fellowship here when next in Philly.
