Beautiful museum packed with amazing art from American impressionism, modern and contemporary art, and bronze casting. Not too big to be overwhelming and small enough that you get to spend quality time with each art piece. Friendly staff, cute gift shop, and great outdoor seating for coffee and snacks.

Wonderful place we were there for a mehndi night. The museum was open hole night, so we also walked around, lots of beautiful pictures and furniture. It's definitely a must-see.

I specifically went for the Lenape exhibit, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The juxtaposition of the “White” art and viewpoint (e.g. Benjamin West’s Penn Treaty painting), alongside Lenape bead work and indigenous art, and some basic facts about what really happened to the Lenape people of the Delaware Valley (all driven out, some as far as Texas and Oklahoma) was an excellent way to tell this story. The rest of the museum was wonderful as well. Especially the modern art.

We were invited to attend an evening "Thank You" event at the reception hall in the Michener Art Museum. We had planned to visit the museum, but it never worked out until this event.
It was easy to get to, there was plenty of parking, the walkways were easy to navigate & the grounds were clean. Our group had the museum to ourselves.
We toured the spacious halls and display rooms leisurely, enjoying the art, photos, furniture, clothing and other displays at our own pace, it was pleasant not to be rushed.
The reception room walls were glass, that was surrounded by high stone walls that were lighted by indirect lamps that added a warm feeling to the room. Our meal was catered, we had a delicious salmon that just melted in your mouth and there was a wide selection of beverages. It was a great evening which we thoroughly enjoyed.
We will definitely come back to enjoy this museum once again.

A little tricky finding.
It's located next to the library. Fortunately there is parking there. Best to use the street entrance. It has a great presence with sculptures and landscapes.
Inside is a smaller scale art gallery includes paintings, carpentry work and sculpture garden.
There is the ability to use mobile to learn about the works on display.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Worth Exploring!

I went to the Michener Art Museum for a special exhibit, however, I enjoyed the entire museum. The collection is varied and offers something for everyone. There is also a sculpture garden. I found it interesting that the building was a former jail. There is a lot of history on the grounds. There is free parking. The entrance fee is quite reasonable. The gift shop is in need of a revamp.
