Not worthy as per ticket rate
If you want to go to the film City you lose your money and time.

Film City , Mumbai is a place to shoot for TV Serials, Advtg Films etc . You can see during the tour but not exciting all the time

The worst tour/tourist experience in Mumbai, particularly bad if you're a foreigner paying the higher rate for the 3 hour tour. If I can prevent just one more person wasting a day here I'll be happy.
To be clear, you won't see any film sets (sets are dismantled immediately after use) but there is no imitation/example set either, so there is zero insight into Bollywood movie sets. You won't even be shown inside a studio.
You won't meet anyone famous, and you are told explicitly not to talk to any actors at all if you see any.
If you don't speak Hindi you won't get any insight into either Bollywood or any film industry as the tour and the talks are 90% Hindi. Don't believe their claim that the tour is 80% English.
Half the things listed on the tour itinerary didn't happen, ie singing in a studio, dressing up in costume etc
Overall you will learn nothing about Bollywood on this tour.
The tour starts with an 'outdoor' tour where you look at the outside of different film studios. It doesn't really matter what is being shot in there as you literally just drive past the outside of the buildings. The tour guide then drove us past a tree, a famous tree apparently(!), but its an awkward stop as there are locals sleeping underneath it.
And that's it for the outdoor tour.
Next you're taken to an indoor theme park that would make your kids cry (see photos). There is a 7D cinema experience that you can get in a shopping mall for 150rupees. Then there is a talk about.. don't know it was fully in Hindi despite the ticket office saying the tour is 80% English (it's more like 10%). Then a video about special effects that foreigners are excluded from (foreigners get a 3 minute overview in a side room - a real treat considering they pay 3 times as much).
The best bit is some kids doing some Bollywood dancing, that should have been longer than 10 minutes.
Overall really amateurish which is maybe fine if you're paying local rate (or not if you read other reviews) but infuriating if you're forced to pay the foreign tax.

My first thought about the place was not good and felt like a waste of money. Here are the pointers:
You'll get many websites that sell tickets at a lower price..but the people there that book my show is their only affiliated partner.
Don't expect to see/meet any star..if you're lucky..you might someone..but your tour bus will not stop..
Don't expect to see any film/serial set..because You'll not go inside any set.
They'll probably take you to one serial shooting..You'll be close enough..but still quiet far to not see/hear any actors.
Basically..You'll only see grass and walls in the first leg of the tour..that is the 'outside tour'.
Then there is a set 'bollywood park'..again no real stars here..but there are a couple of shows that I enjoyed a lot..multiple photo points from some of your favourite movies.
Expect to spend 3-4 hrs here if you're having a meal

Important..reach the location 15min before your ticket time..as they send the bus only with the list of ticket holders..but incase you do get late..there is still scope for a little adjustment.

I visited there in month of January
Guided tour is there when you want to go inside the film city that starts from the Main gate u need to buy tickets from the counter.

The tour will be in the bus 🚌 where they will show the famous spots where shootings take place of different movies, tv shows etc.
Also the bus stops at some of the famous locations of film city one of them is Film City famous temple.

If you are lucky enough you can get a glimpse of shooting as well that totally varies time to time.

Love my visit to the film city
It's was an amazing experience.

ALERT! Maybe Scam.

Review of: Mumbai Filmcity Tours

I booked this tour through Time Out Mumbai - I thought it is something to do when I have only one day to spend in Mumbai - if it starts at noon and picks me up at the hotel as booking site claimed.

After purchasing tickets and realized there's many missing details, I contacted the only number written on the ticket - no replies, until the day before the tour, now claiming it only has 4:30pm spot and I'd have to self-drive to the location (which was one hour away) - which was impossible for my logistics. I said that's not what I signed up for and demanded to cancel with full refund.

The person keeps dodging my request, saying she'd have to talk to "Viator" and apparently she is just being in the middle and cannot do anything. I kept asking her that I'd like to speak to Viator so give me their info - no replies.

Of course, they kept my $49 and no signs of refund whatsoever, and I still do not know how to contact them to claim it. So here I'm writing, hoping that they'd see this review and contact me, and also to warn people who consider doing this tour.

A good experience of 3 hours tour of filmcity. But there’s some disappointment that they didn’t show Powai lakes view and other point. Otherwise everything was good.
Price: 1000 for 3 hours

Filmcity was shown for 2 hours for 1000 rupees. The charge is too much, nothing special inside...If going for enjoyment then it is pointless to go, better take time out at some beach in Mumbai... can't take photos in shooting areas everything is not good...
