The entrance sign was a quick walk from our vrbo so I decided to hike this quick trail down to the river. Totally worth the hike back up!

Just before entering the Sequoia National Park you can stop at the Indian Head River trailhead to praise the mountain range and take photos with the National Park's entrance sign. The sign is carved in the shape of a native American face. The parking lot makes it easier to access. You can also walk down the trail to watch the river more closely.

Great hike in. Enjoyed Christmas break. Current military, retired military, and veterans are free.

It's a nice title block photo opp for visitors visiting the national park. We passed by early, about 8:30am, so crowds were light and friendly. Cotravelers were nice to take a photo of our entire party which speaks to the ease of parking and ability of the space to accommodate a stop with low stress. Can't speak for later hours though when the crowds may get larger.

Came here as a kid all the time, now I bring my kids. A great swimming hole! It is absolutely gorgeous. Big rocks with shimmering pyrite, crystal clear water and nature's sounds of birds a chirping. A fun place to dig for gold,or fools gold.
