The boat ride was okay! But be very careful over here as they scam tourists with very expensive and high prices.

A nice trip. You can enrich yourself in the culture of the people that live in the cannals. People will approach you for food mariachi and other items shops to dock into. Just a shame you will get approach constantly because they know youre a tourist. Price acessible if its a big group.

Don't go to this dock. Go to Nuevo Nativitas dock. They try to scam you at this dock. The boat should cost 600 pesos per hour (for the whole boat not per person). They tried to tell us it was 3600 pesos for a 2 hour ride. When we said no and started leaving They dropped the price by 1/3. Don't support scammers. The other dock is much nicer and more legitament.

Two hours and not a lot to see. Everything they advertised on the little board, from food, drinks, and animal petting, cost extra. You're just paying for the boat, and it costs too much just for that. It might be worth it if you are in a group of 10 or more since you will all have fun among yourselves during the ride. I suggest taking the scenic route, which is 600 pesos. You'll get good pictures and see the original island of dolls. (The scenic route is 6 hours due to the distance to the island.) And watch out for the men on motorcycles. They can easily spot the tourists and will follow you until they convince you to come to this place.

The service was good but it seems like we paid a whole lot of money for a shortened trip (1600 for 1.5 hrs, round trip was closer to 1hr). Wish we shopped around a little beforehand.

It's the closest embarcadero to the train station and not the best looking location to include the surrounding experience. But it's still a good experience. Theres only a couple of ATMs so bring some pocket money. The start location doesnt show much unless you contract 2 or more hours.

I was fairly nervous having read these reviews and my poor spanish-speaking skills. Maybe it was the time of day--4:30pm on a Sunday--or the lack of other customers there, but my negotiation here was fairly seamless.

Knowing that the absolute most you should spend is 500 pesos/hour, you should make a low ball offer; don't let the guy make the first offer cause you will lose any of your bargaining leverage. We ended up meeting at a price somewhere in the middle that was still lower than the 500 pesos/hour rate. Also, the guys here speak fairly good English, but it doesn't hurt to know some basic Spanish.
