For RM12.00 per serving, Goggles Man Char Koay Teow comes with 2 huge succulent prawns which were so fresh that it is crunchy, fried pork lard, and slices of Chinese sausage (lap cheong) in a paper plate. You need not ask for no cockles as it is not served with cockles. It is lighter than my favourite Tiger Char Koay Teow at Carnavan Street.

There is a history behind the stall as the original Char Koay Teow stall here was the rude Red Hat Aunty that moved down the road to take residence in Kafe Heng Huat after she bought the premises.

Goggles Man then took over the CKT spot here, built up his reputation over the years and ended also buying up the shop lot renaming it KTG Cafe from the original name of Low Eng Hoo Cafe.

So there are two famous Char Koay Teows along this stretch of Lorong Selamat that have a following on food blogs, Instagram and Tik Tok.

The 1/2 hour wait for this CKT is very well worth it. Full of flavours, prawns were plump, juicy and had crunch (not overcooked). Went there ard 2 pm on Saturday, no queue in line. Seated ourselves in the coffeeshop which is quite cooling, outside is sweltering 35 degree.

My 2nd visit to this hawker stall, seems like my mom’s favorite CKT, I personally think CKT is based on your own taste preference, this stalls served CKT that is not super oily, wok hei so-so, I preferred one without chili, seems better. With that price, you able to get 2 big prawns, with quite a good portion of kuey teow.

This place has been around for decades and it is still consistently serving up the best CKT and Kopi I've had in Penang. Generous huge Prawns, the flavour of the Wok, noodles and Spices is just right. Looking forward to coming back again. Must try!

I reached this non-airconditional coffee shop on weekend at about 2:30pm. The coffee shop was 100% occupied. Waiting time for my take out was 45 minutes.

Fried koay teow at RM12 was slightly above average. Ingrients with Chinese sausage and 2 large prawns. It was cheaper than the neighbouring auntie with red hat fried koay teow but taste wise, Goggle man was 2 level below. The koay teow here was lacked of wok hei and some sticked together. But, the service of goggles man was fantastic as he was patient, courteous, and caring compared to redhat Auntie, who was no response and proud. 3 stars

Icelacang at the same coffee shop was great refreshments. It's a bit sweet but good for waiting for the fried kosy teow. RM5.50 per serving. 2 stars

As a char kuey teow lover, you must try this place. It has an authentic taste, cooked with special Malaysian spices, with a delicious flavor and perfect texture. The large, crispy, and fresh prawns make it the best place to eat in Penang. They also have fried oysters. You can ask for extra oysters in the large size. Eating kuey teow and fried oysters there is like the perfect combo lunch.

ordered the spicy one. taste was okay, what I really liked was the prawns, big and fresh. RM12 for the portion is still reasonable unlike the Oyster Omelette next door, pathetic portion.

I failed to eat at this place twice and finally managed today. Was a tad disappointed maybe due to my own hype. Thought the ckt was a bit dry and too spicy. For rm12 per plate but did have 2 big prawns
