I can see why this place would have made such a great summer white house. The view is amazing and with such a great backstory. Only a short hike from the parking lot. Should be on every one's list of must see

Beautiful view of the continental divide and front range slopes! It really would have been a great place for a residence or hotel if it was easy to get to back then!

Great clean trail with lots of walking room. It’s a moderate trail but great for beginners or those adapting to altitude as it has many options. It’s Great for dogs as well.

Beautiful open space with well shaped trails - there’s something for everyone; easy, moderate, intense. Great for a serious trail run or a casual family walk in the clouds. The “Summer White House” itself was a bit trickier to find than I expected! Fun to search for.

Very nice hike. Highly trafficked, although less so once you get on the Walker's Dream section of the trail. Lots of mountain bikers. Great views of the front range. Very manageable if you leave from the West Parking lot trailhead.

Really good place to go hiking it took us 2 hours to get there in a relaxed pace and it worth the effort nice views of the red rocks amphitheater 1 deer we park in the east parking trail head entrance the hiking was 9.5 miles total and if your interested in a good hiking try this one!!

We enjoyed a beautiful day on this "Easy" rated hike. The paths are wide and level with some rocky outcroppings to venture out to for kids to climb on. It is not a strenuous hike. I think a stroller would work fine for the little ones. I saw a couple of kids that were running on the way into the park but their parents were carrying them on the way out.
Parking is limited with 2 small lots but we just parked on the side of the road and walked up to the entrance.
They do have restrooms (clean, well kept Outhouses, bring hand sanitizer)
at the very beginning of the trail. There are benches scattered throughout the trails to catch your breath and enjoy the views. You can see the Red Rock Amphitheatre in my photo.
Once you get to the Summer White House I'd say you are about to the half way point. The end of the easy part has a small pavilion to stop for shade and a rest. No strollers beyond here. We hiked down a little further on a narrow winding trail.
