Very nice park! Well kept and a lot of stuff to do.
We saw goslings! I thought it would be May for that, but not this year. They weren't that small, either. The river walk is paved smooth and children playing on scooters could sail down the path without any trouble. Now that I think about it, it might also be a great spot to rollerskate. There are a couple of large rocks that are great for sitting, and a few canopied picnic tables next to a sizeable fire pit with benches. It's a beautiful spot.
A great little park on the Mississippi River in Sartell. Paved trails for walking and biking. A canoe and kayak access with some rock fishing piers jutting about 20 feet into the current (when there is no drought 😔). Plus the old bridge buttress with the trail along the shore is awesome. It could use more parking, but then again it is a small park.
The remodeling of Southside Park is fantastic! I've found my new go to park to walk in the summertime!
Nice view of Mississippi River. There have fence with padlocks, it cool. There plenty of trail for you to walking, biking, jogging, running etc.
A great sledding hill for younger ages. It also has a bike path along with a covered wagon theme playground for younger and older children.
The playground area resides next to the Mississippi River. There is tree coverage closer to the river and limited coverage by the playground.
The train tracks are separated from the park by a road. If you are considering a musical event, it can be a bit rumbly which would detract from a live music performance.
If you are looking for a place to have a lovely picnic, easy access to playground or places to hang out for a few minutes, the Southside Park would be a great choice.
