We went here because the man at the front convinced us to be careful of the surrounding restaurants as nothing was fresh.

We asked how much the meat platter would be for 2 people and were told 1500 Turkish Lira. We ordered 2 meze and the meat platter and 2 x cokes. The total should have been around 2000 Lira.
The meze were good. The meat platter was bland, lacked any seasoning and was way too big for 2 people.

When we went up to pay, the total was just written on a scrap piece of paper totalling 9000 Lira. We asked for the receipt to be itemised and we were told no. We then argued this price and had to get the man who told us it would be 1500 Lira. He tried to say he didn’t understand what we were saying. He never told us that was the price per person.
No idea where 9000 Lira came from. We ended up getting the price down to 3400 Lira and could not be bothered to argue further.

Please be wary of what you’re ordering and the actual prices.

I am highly disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered a kebab dish that was unexpectedly charged at €300, a price that was not listed on the menu. This lack of transparency is concerning and feels misleading. To provide context, I’ve attached photos of the dish and the receipt. I would caution others to be aware of potential discrepancies when dining here.

Lovely views of the sea and the decoration was nice. As goes for most of the restaurants on the seafront in Bodrum, the servers are very pushy as you walk along, which is common in tourist heavy areas. They were missing quite a lot from their menu, including the Pide. The portion sizes were very large but the quality of the food was very mediocre, and both the dishes were had were very bland, which were the Pasta Alfredo and the Grilled Chicken. It was quite expensive for what it was, and they put 10% service charge on the bill.

I was on the Virgin Voyages Greek Glow cruise, which has a one-day stop in Bodrum. I always try to have at least one authentic meal in a new city, so I walked along the Bodrum marina until a restaurant beckoned me over. Baston is a café/restaurant on the shoreline of Bodrum Turkey’s marina. Its location makes it great for people watching but also to take in the views of the Agean sea. Customer service was very good and food and beverages came out in a reasonable time frame.

I ordered the house (Turkish) Sauvignon Blanc and Sea Bass. The wine was delicious. The meal came with bread service, which was essentially several pieces of bread in a paper bag.

Fortunately, the sea bass was as memorable as the bread was not. It is the standard by which I will measure future sea bass. I appreciated it being filleted table side by the wait staff. The beauty of the fish was in the simplicity of the preparation. The freshest of fish accompanied by olive oil, salt, and lemon. The potato wedges were well fried and I had to make myself stop eating then because I had dinner in three hours. The “side salad” was lightly adorned with lemon juice and olive oil.

I wish I had more time in Bodrum to continue eating and drinking. Everything looked delicious and I was curious about Bodrum’s version of a Sangria.

Lovely beach side meal with fantastic food and service ! Looked after us, gave blankets as it was a bit chilly and offered coffee at the end.

What an incredible aura to the restaurant! The manager has a very contagious energy and the food (get in season food) is very very well prepared! I think I will visit next year again, just for their shrimps 😋 I ended up coming to this restaurant every day of my stay in Bodrum

While walking we met the owner or the manager he looked nice and tried to help us to find best boat and tours deals so we decided to get back and have a late lunch we were 2 persons. The food was bad, the salad was so bad it came without dressing and the seafood platter didn’t taste fresh. When we ordered the bill we were shocked to receive a piece of paper where the same guy wrote the price without showing information and it was too expensive, he didn’t show the real price but we were sure the price should be less than half of what we’ve paid.
