The BEST Mexican food in Regensburg. The ambience is so good. I would highly recommend to sit inside the restaurant to experience both the food and the colorful atmosphere😍
This place is a great cafe for Mexican food. It is not the same as being on the border of Mexico especially the corn chips and corn tortillas but this is Germany. That being said the spices are great, the flavors can hold there own with most all Tex-mex restaurants. The nachos with chili con carne although different in the area of corn chips are excellent great spice, the chili was delicious. The taquitos are different in the tortilla they are closer to a flauta but they are great and the tortilla they use adds to there uniqueness, definitely would order again. The elotes could use a bit of chili powder for spice but still very nice to get corn here. The quesadilla was the star, the quesadilla Argentina was absolutely amazing, the steak was as tender as butter, the veg and cheese were amazing this is a definite reorder item. Overall can't wait to try the burrito and as hard as it is to find Mexican food in the area this place is a find. You can't go wrong stopping here for a meal. Also thank you to the staff they were great, friendly, and super fast.
Very disappointed with this restaurant. The food is not Mexican. We ordered Tacos which were greasy spring rolls! Enchiladas tasted like crepes filled with pre frozen vegetables. Feeling of eating in cheap Chinese Imbiss. One star for friendly server. Not coming back there.
If your from the North or South America remember this is a German take on Mexican food. Service was very prompt and helpful, the margaritas were good! I had the burrito with spicy beef.
This was an amazing experience. My first time at El Sombrero and it was beyond expectations. The food was awesome and the portion was generous too! Recommended!
You must visit this place. Good decor and music to start with. We were a small group without reservation, and all asked for different plates. We all got amazed by the presentation, quality and flavour of the food. They have also a big collection of tequila, with some secrets that are outside the menu. If you are searching for something different from the typical German food, you should really try this place!
Great Tex Mex in a lovely little side street with great service! We wanted to sit outside, but of course when we arrived, everyone else did as well, so there were no places left for us. So we went inside to sit because we wanted to try the place. Despite not having a reservation, the server totally accommodated us with our desire to sit outside. Food was really yummy and portions for one meal were enough to share. We were totally able to get a mix of tacos in addition. Really great place and we're happy to come back on our next trip to Regensburg! Added bonus was their little but appreciated and noticeable sign (see picture) on the door 💗 quality place. They accept bank card payment as well.
The atmosphere there was very good, I was with friends from work celebrating Christmas, and we enjoyed being there. The food was very delicious, the staff was friendly and price was affordable too. It is also very well located in the old city center from Regensburg. I would go there again. Weak point: the Mojito was missing a alcohol on it, was tasting too sweet like Hugo. Despite that, was everything fine.!
