Nice path along canal for people to either walk, jog or hike along; Great spots for fishing 🎣 not a lot spots for parking though; multiple benches and picnic tables along the path as well;
I could sit at the locks all day watching the operators lower and raise the water to allow people to travel up and down for unlimited adventure. The operators are also a wealth of knowledge and great to get more info on the ins and outs of the lock system.
It's lots of fun to ride a canal boat up and down the lock. It's a great local, historical experience and everybody should do it at least once.
I liked watching the water fill up :3
The two sisters were very nice.
Highly recommend sitting outside in the boat, its a nice view and the wind feels nice.
But uh, if you have back problems, being something to sit on, the furniture is very stiff.

Going through the lock was a very interesting and fun experience. I highly recommend it and the Sam Patch boat tour.
Camping at this lock is not that great. There are many lights on at night, the water in the lock is pretty loud, there's a main street nearby
AND they seem to be really strict about wanting everyone to stay on the north side of the lock. It does not have the most welcoming vibe. Nevertheless I am very thankful that they allow you to camp here.

A great place for a walk along the canal. There is a kayak launch here and on the south side a kayak rental and white water course. One of the photo shows a art class using the canal as the subject.
Nice park. Its great for walking, biking, and fishing. Also watching the boats come through the lock is interesting
