I'm amazed I've never been here before and plan on making it over here many more times. A friend asked me to join her here last night for House Music. The music was great, the drinks are strong, and Sands and Sands Light are served ice cold.
This place is great. It's right in the water, and if you get a day pass, you can come and enjoy the beach and beautiful sunsets.

Nice quiet beach tucked away. Nice bar with friendly service. This is the perfect chill beach to relax with company.
We were fortunate to be on Nassau for 6 days, and came here twice (33% of our trip).
That should tell you how great the beach, the restaurant, and the staff were, not necessarily in that order.
Love Beach with the Nirvana Restaurant was a true paradise.
The Cracked Conch was incredible, better than anything else we experienced on the island!
Definitely worth a visit while staying or even better while visiting via ship-this beach defines why people go to the bahamas.
Thank you for making our trip much better than we even imagined!

My experience at the Nirvana Beach Bar is a tale of two stories. Rating the establishment itself, I'm leaning towards a 2 out of 5 stars, but the beach it grants access to deserves a full 5 out of 5 stars.
The Establishment:
Upon arrival, the welcome was lukewarm at best. The attendant collecting the entrance fee, while not outwardly rude, lacked the warmth you'd expect in such a tourist-friendly locale. The $5 per person access fee is reasonable for Nassau, especially given the pristine condition of the beach beyond. However, the amenities left much to be desired. The restrooms were muggy, had an unpleasant odor, and felt unclean, despite being functional. The bar boasts stunning views but feels somewhat bare, and while the spotty WiFi is understandable for beachside relaxation, it's worth noting for those who might need it. Cash is a necessity here, as payment systems falter with the internet connectivity. Beverage prices were as expected, with beers at $5-$6 and mixed drinks from $10-$15. The food was decent but unremarkable, and service can best be described as leisurely.
A word of caution: I discovered roofing nails in the sand near the outdoor shower area. I recommend footwear at all times in the sand for safety. The shower facility, while basic and only partially enclosed, is a convenient feature for beachgoers.
The Beach:
Now, for the beach itself - it's absolutely stunning. Despite being a public beach, access seemed exclusive via the Nirvana Bar, which offers ample free parking. The minimal $5 entry fee is a small price for such secluded beauty. The lack of tourists and sparse crowd made for a serene experience, with moments where it felt like our private paradise. The crystal-clear waters and calm waves were perfect for snorkeling or a leisurely swim. There are no lifeguards, so activities are at one's own risk. The beach's length is ideal for a 30-45 minute stroll, offering a peaceful escape.
Despite the shortcomings of the Nirvana Beach Bar, the unmatched beauty of the beach and the convenience of on-site amenities mean we will definitely return. The allure of tranquility and natural beauty far outweighs the establishment's flaws.

We didn't eat here, but came for the beach, as our taxi driver said it was the best for snorkeling, which is what my husband and son wanted. The beach was amazing! The snorkeling was great, as they saw all kinds of sea life. My other two sons and I enjoyed finding snails, crabs, barnacles, and other creatures on the rocky shoal. Just be careful of the spiny sea urchins.
It costs $10 per person to use the beach. There are bathrooms, but they are a little run down, and the outdoor shower isn't the nicest. They also charge to use beach chairs. I would advise going somewhere else for nicer facilities, but if interested in snorkeling, this is the place!

Hitting the streets of Nassau on some ATVs, we stumbled across this gem. Perfectly positioned right on the turquoise waters on the coast. This place had it all. Music, drinks, food, and of course a beach to swim in. The service was just amazing as it always is in the Bahamas. We had all the conch we could of dreamed of. Deep fried, fritters, and both versions of their conch salad (traditional and tropical). Just simply delicious. Even their wings were on point. All around phenomenal place with phenomenal people. Next time you find yourself in Nassau Bahamas, the a pit stop here. You will not regret it.
I had the absolute pleasure of visiting this incredible location recently, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a fantastic experience! Nestled in a picturesque spot, this place offers a perfect combination of delightful drinks and scrumptious food, all served with a breathtaking ocean view that's simply mesmerizing.
The first thing that caught my eye was the pristine beach that stretched out before me. Not only can you indulge in some mouthwatering delicacies and refreshing beverages, but you can also take a dip in the crystal-clear waters or embark on a snorkeling adventure. For those who didn't bring their own gear, fret not, because they have top-notch snorkeling equipment available for rent. The convenience factor is off the charts!
And here's a wonderful tidbit to add: the icing on the cake is the free parking available, making your visit hassle-free from start to finish. You won't have to worry about finding a spot for your car, which is a rare and much-appreciated perk in many beachside destinations.
However, it's worth noting that there is a $5 cover charge for everyone, which is a small fee considering the fantastic experience you'll have here. It helps maintain the high quality of the amenities and services provided.
But that's not all; this hidden gem has a lot more to offer. If you're a fan of aviation or simply enjoy watching planes, you're in for a treat. This spot is not only a great place to enjoy ocean views but also a fantastic vantage point for observing planes coming in to land. The thrill of seeing these giant birds gracefully descend against the backdrop of the open sea is a unique and awe-inspiring experience.
Speaking of convenience, the provision of beach chairs was a thoughtful touch. It's a dream to kick back in one of those, sipping on a cool beverage while listening to the gentle lull of the waves. But what if you decide to take a plunge into the sea? Well, they've got you covered there too. They offer access to clean and well-maintained restrooms and fresh water showers, ensuring you can change and freshen up without a hitch.
Now, let me take a moment to highlight the exceptional staff. From the moment I stepped foot in this paradise, I was met with nothing but smiles and helpful gestures. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was memorable. Their knowledge of the menu, their willingness to accommodate special requests, and their overall friendliness made our visit that much more enjoyable.
Ultimately, this spot is a hidden treasure along the coast, offering more than just a place to dine and drink. It's a complete experience, from the stunning ocean views to the opportunities for aquatic adventures, and the exceptional customer service. The only caveat is the accessibility factor with the stairs, but if that's not an issue for you, I can't recommend this place enough. Plus, the added bonus of free parking and the opportunity to watch planes land truly make it a hassle-free and unique destination. Don't forget about the $5 cover charge, a small price to pay for such an extraordinary experience.

April 2024: Excellent service at lunch today! Mango daiquiris still rule, and the fish and chips were absolutely delicious (piping hot, crispy, served in under 10 minutes). Tartar sauce was out of this world! The views are breathtaking. So happy we made a return visit.
August 2022: Our favourite spot for an afternoon drink (the mango daiquiris are beyond compare) and the BEST tropical conch salad with homemade hot sauce. Dorothy, the salad shack chef, welcomed us warmly and treated us like family. She exemplifies the infamous Bahamian warmth we'd heard so much about prior to our visit here and she helped make a stellar vacation even more memorable. We cannot wait to return!
