Very good food and accomodating staff (Shirlie and William very friendly).
Decided to try the restaurant since we saw they had sukiyaki in the menu and the staff outside the restaurant said that it was one of their best sellers. However, once we sat down they said that it was unavailable since they ran out of tofu. They said that we can still order it with no tofu, but no adjustment on the price. Therefore, we instead ordered the Botekara All-Star (Karaage Trio), Golden Shrimp Tempura, and Diced Teriyaki Beef Garlic Steak. The Karaage was just alright, couldn’t tell the difference between the different flavors. You have to order the dipping sauce separately. The tempura was pretty good, but it wasn’t served with radish. The garlic steak was also cooked well and very flavorful, tasted kind of like wagyu cubes. It was served with salad in sesame dressing. Menu has significantly changed, they offer so much more now. We got our food pretty fast too, i’d say within 10 minutes of ordering.

Waiting time after ordering was very long, roughly 30 minutes. Got 3 of our dishes wrong, and after returning them, told us our order was out of stock 10 minutes later. Egg on my dish was still raw, orders were missed.
Just saw the server dropped a sauce dish. Picked it back up. Pour sauce into it and proceed to serve…….

Good - good sized but way too salty. Paid for their most premium ₱500 but felt disappointed as there’s not much meat in there. Just do the basic ones and you’ll be happier

It was my first time eating at Boteyju and I had a lot of expectations considering its a Japan cuisine but sad to say it was anything but. The food was unimpressionable though it was presentable. I dont know if we just picked the wrong set of foods or what. I dont think I would be eating at Boteyju anytime soon. I'm sorry
They served good ramen and other Japanese-inspired food items. I ordered tonkotsu ramen with chasu. The broth was flavorful, the chasu grilled perfectly, jammy eggs, bouncy noods. No complaints. The All-Star Takoyaki was also good, but it took a while to be served. The servers should be more attentive, especially when processing the bill, payment, and receipt. Also, they should do something about those flies — perhaps put some insect zappers?
Based on what we ordered, there's nothing special with their food, especially the takoyaki and the Shrimp Fried Prawn Mayo Roll did not even satisfied my expectation, looking at the picture in the menu and considering the price, I was expecting it to be good. It is pricey, sometimes it's ok to eat in a pricey restaurant if you have the budget for it but at least you will expect to get really good food. We transferred from our first table which is located at the end of the room because there was many mosquitoes. But the seats on the wall side is not advisable for diners with small children. I find the back of the chair dangerous because the design have exposed flourescent lights, this should be covered with something like protective plates, there are options to cover these flourescent lights to make it safe and yet you can use the right materials to maintain that design effect that you want to achieve. I also find it dirty, as you can see in the picture. These are areas that maybe the staffs already don't take time to clean and yet are very visible because of the lights. The serving time was not long 15 minutes is already good. I don't have plans of going back. They have a lot of choices in their menu, I hope they can improve.
