I visited Velindre with a relative. The receptionist and nursing staff were very helpful. But the consultant Betsan Thomas was over an hour and a half late for the appointment which was conducted in a side room with only 2 chairs. My relative was in some pain having waited this long. No apology was provided. A student was also in the room who came in without introduction, and was told to sit on the bed.
It did not feel like a professional clinical setting and then, unsurprisingly given the delay, this consultant was in a rush to finish the appointment after just around 10 minutes, which was the very first so we correctly felt there was more time needed to discuss the case. There needs to be more professionalism, empathy and concern for the patients going forward, rather than just this conveyor belt approach.

After my mother suffered a horrendous experience at another facility, I have nothing but thanks for the staff at velindre. Everyone has been outstanding very thorough explanation of everything, staff go above and beyond to facilitate comfort. An absolute blessing thank you all.

what an amazing place. my partner received amazing care here following her diagnosis. the care, support, empathy and professionalism the staff show to each patient is amazing. sadly my partner lost her battle with cancer but the support and messages I received from her oncologist and staff there were very appreciated. a truly amazing and life supporting environment
What a great services , what a lovely incredibal staff ever Dr Hanna and her team from doctors to nurses , receptionist , is doing very hard to help the penitent , and doing great environment to cheer them up , this hospital deserve a millions and millions thanks , and should be supported more , thank you and bless you all incredible staff ever , hope heath hospital would same ,thanks again love you all
I had undergone Radio Therapy at this Hospital in December2023 for my cancer. The staff in L2 was amazing, especially Grace,Hannah and Sara. They were very polite,friendly, smiling and lend me words of kindness and support throughoutthe treatment time . So were the reception staff always welcoming with a smile and make you feel comfortable while waiting at reception. A special word of thanks to Dr.Chand who explained to me in detail every aspect of the treatment. I highly recommend this hospital
Fantastic Hospital radiologist team fantastic they will look after you throughout the treatment you will see review nurses every week and explain everything to you. if you need to know anything always ask and they will advise you the receptionists are great they will go out their way to make sure you're booking arrangements are up to date and if you need help with travel they will help you sort that out for you as well. They are very caring and helpful they have been lovely to everyone I have seen come through those doors
Velindre is an incredibly important place with the most caring and attentive of staff. My Dad had his treatment in Velindre when he was diagnosed with cancer. He always spoke highly of the staff at Velindre and praised them for doing such a great job. He used to look forward to his weekly visits there. After my Dad's passing I decided to do a few fundraisers as a thank you to Velindre and it was great to give a little something back to them for all of their hard work and dedication. Thank you, Velindre, and keep up the great work, guys!
