We visited the cafe. Lovely ambience and good service with a warm welcome. The two coffees - latte and flat white - were good, not great. The chamomile tea was lovely and the jasmine tart, superb.
Most of all, we really enjoyed the feel of the place, comfortable seating, lovely potted plants and some smart wall art. Just chilled with class.
Maybe brunch sometime 💭 😋

was here for the Penang Cocktail Week held at The Cellar. Loved the ambience and a great place to chill. Cocktails was amazing!

It was a hot day and needed to get away from the sun. Service top notch from staff. Had an hour to kill and it was perfect with some tea and honey.

We we at the hotel to dine at Blanc. The degustation menu was for a special occasion with the wine pairings. Everything was so delicious and it looks exquisite. Price is high compared to Penang prices but we both felt it was worth every cent.

The history of the mansion is very interesting. We were fascinated by the large head figure as you come into the drive.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Macalister Mansion, and I can't say enough about the exceptional experience I had from start to finish. The personalized service from Kamala & Kevin was evident from the moment I checked in, making me feel truly welcome and valued as a guest. Lynne which served us at breakfast was friendly & had excellent service.

The rooms are exquisite, beautifully designed with a perfect blend of modern luxury and classic elegance. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, creating a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, always ready with a warm smile and a helpful hand. Their professionalism and genuine care added to the overall charm of the hotel. One of the highlights was the high-quality bathroom amenities, which contributed to the feeling of indulgence and relaxation. It’s clear that Macalister Mansion takes pride in providing a top-notch experience for its guests. Overall, my stay at Macalister Mansion was nothing short of perfect, and I look forward to returning. Highly recommended!

The mansion has been lovingly restored into a luxurious boutique hotel with the outcome, not cost as the main consideration. We love the touches to detail with the locking doors, beautiful wallpaper and tiles.

Didn't get a chance to dine at blanc but high tea at the cafe was a wonderful fine dining experience at a budget price. An unexpected bonus when we got back after dinner was a class act jazz trio accompanied with cocktails by a great barman.

Service was outstanding from front desk, dining and the bar. So refreshing to have friendly chatty locals instead of foreign workers.

Only 8 rooms here and they are all unique in their own ways. The rooms are huge and so's the shower/vanity area. Each evening, the staff comes in to turn down your bed. Linen is crisp and clean. The dining room and the living room has excellent food and we also enjoyed after-dinner whiskey at bar. Will definitely come back to try out the other rooms.
Update - I recently came back and stayed here for a weekend. They have renovated and the rooms and lobby looked great. The service is still top notch and they make every guest felt like they are the only ones staying there. I love the large towels and the huge bathroom. They also have one of the best looking bar on the island! I got lucky and my room have a balcony with the garden/pool view.
