Beautiful easy walk. Nice gardens. Also some attractions, expensive but not bad... They have BBQ areas and places to picnic also. Downside, you have to pay for parking!

Lovely small waterfall. Steep path down. Not suitable for mobility challenged individuals.

With a short walk down a slight downhill path you get to the viewing platform. Nice place to stop have a cuppa before hitting the road again. Would be a nice to see after a few full days of heavy rainfall.

Shiprock Falls: A Hidden Gem with Cascading Charm

Shiprock Falls isn't your typical, grand cascading waterfall, but it offers a unique and delightful experience for those seeking a nature escape. Nestled in the scenic Kurth Kiln National Park, Shiprock Falls is perfect for a relaxing day trip or a pitstop on a longer exploration of the park.

The Enchanting Trail:

The walk to the falls is a breeze, suitable for most fitness levels. The well-maintained path winds through towering Mountain Ash trees, offering a beautiful canopy escape. Keep your eyes peeled for native birds and the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves.

The Majestic Ship Rock:

Even before reaching the falls, you'll be captivated by the namesake rock formations. These colossal rock structures, resembling a ship's hull, are a sight to behold. Kids will love exploring the nooks and crannies, while photographers can capture stunning images with a bit of creativity.

A Glimpse of the Waterfall:

The waterfall itself is more subtle than some, but its charm lies in its tranquility. A viewing platform provides a glimpse of the cascading water, but the real treat is for the adventurous souls. A slightly off-the-beaten-path trail (be cautious!) leads closer to the base for a more immersive experience.

A Perfect Day Out:

Whether you're seeking a peaceful nature walk, a spot for a picnic lunch, or an afternoon of exploring with the family, Shiprock Falls delivers. Pack a picnic basket, bring your camera, and be prepared to be enchanted by this hidden gem.

Decent parking space but not very big.
Toilet yes.

I loved this place. We were the only ones here, it was very peaceful. Short, easy walk from the car park to the falls.
Well worth the stop at this one… it’s kind of easy to miss.

Nice little walk with a waterfall at the end.

The Ship Rock is pretty cool.
Good bouldering opportunity.

The walk is very short, so if you want a longer walk, look elsewhere.

Last time I visited the toilet was vandalized.

We went here about two weeks ago. It's a small waterfall with a small viewing platform. There is a decent amount of parking (wasn't that busy). There is also a picnic table and fire pit nearby. The toilet is also close to the carpark. It's relatively easy to get to the viewing platform and back to the carpark. My wife and I did it with our 9 month old baby. Keep in mind that the entrance to the falls and carpark is a bit misleading, and you can easily miss it. Google maps doesn't have accurate information on the entrance to the carpark.

A beautiful waterfall that's only a short, easy walk from the road and can be done with any shoes. The path itself to the viewing platform takes you past a massive rock formation that looks like a ship, hence the name. Near the small car park, there's also a single picnic table plus a toilet nearby. There are a few other "non-official" walking tracks in the surrounding area, but beware, they can be very slippery and most have long drops. The waterfall flows all year round, but it's best viewed in the winter months.
