The gate itself is beautiful, also, the change of guards is amazing. The drawback is that you can wait a lot to see it happen, so it is far better that you adjust your schedule to be there 10-15 minutes before the ceremony. The other problem is the crowd, lots of people are there just to watch it so you may end up seeing it from behind

When I first approached the Castle I had already a hint of what it means to the Czech people. A symbol of power and, at worse, of bureaucratic dominance and centralism. When arriving there the size and dignity of that magnificent building totally matched my expectations.

A historical area inside the Prague Castle. You go through the gate to go to the inside of the castle. Outside the gate you will see the changing of the guards every hour. Thers is a huge open space before the gate. There are huge impressive buildings there.

Absolutely beautiful architecture. We knew we were coming up to a castle/cathedral
We didn't know there was so much more than that. It's a whole town. It's amazing

Of course it reminded me of London.
The only downside is that times flies by so fast when you are absorbed by watching everything that happens and you might end up being late to visiting something else too.

Very nice gates and buildings in the background. I was surprised to see the military on duty here, just like in London. And the guard is very similar to London. It's even more interesting because it's not so steamed up

Visiting Prague inc Castle is absolutely in any time in the whole year. Great for family day as well

This is the gate to the second part of Prague Castle and keeps the Cathedral of St Vitas safe from marauding barbarians, and, perhaps, tourists, depending on how you might view us visitors!

Whilst functional, with its guards both sculptured and real, it is a beautiful example of this type of ornate ironwork.
