Pelican Pizza

Food is very good.
Location is very central. No easy parking. Establishment can only seat like 5 tables, not ideal to dine in.

***READ ALL 1 STAR REVIEWS AND BELIEVE THEM !!!*** ... I have ZERO idea how this place has such a high overall rating. There are LITERALLY 10 BOX PIZZAS FROM WALMART THAT TASTE BETTER THAN THIS!!!! .... it's the most generic flavorless way too thin pizza I've had EVER at a pizza place. Im from out of town and wanted to try a Monterey specific high rated pizza... What a waste of my time and $$$ .... I have Round Table and Mountain Mike's in my hometown, but now I remember why Its often best to stick with what you know, as both are 10x better than this generic flavorless low budget hole in the wall joint. Maybe the locals here don't know what good pizza is, but if you're from out of town and have some good pizza joints in your town, just stick with Round Table or Mountain Mike's or even the Pizza My Heart they have here .... But ANYTHING over this place.

The Pizza here is delicious if you are a garlic lover have it added to your pie. Really really great Pizza dough. Nice and friendly staff. The little old school building is really neat. Haven't tried enough places in Monterey to say it's the best in town or anything but it's one of the bets Pizzas I've had in years.

Truly excellent pizza, some of the best I've ever had on the west coast. Dough was perfectly crispy and the cheese was super tasty. Affordable, large slices ($3.50 as of July 2024) and caring employees that were down for a laugh.

I walked into the place, with the sign at the door for 15.75 X Large 1 topping pizza and 13 something for a large. I asked for a X-large 1 topping pizza and he said he doesn’t have X large. I asked are you out of any of the dough or any other ingredient, he said no he just doesn’t have Xtra large, just large and medium. So I asked for a large after not understanding why he couldn’t make an extra large then he tried charging me over 17 dollars for a large cheese pizza. He lied and was too lazy to make a pizza. When I was still willing to pay because my little cousin wanted pizza I handed him my card and he asked for an ID. An ID AT A PIZZA PLACE. I have never heard of anything like this. After I asked him why he needs it he just walked away so I told my little cousin we will eat something else. Never met a ruder employee and if he’s the owner that’s even worse. He was lazy and a liar with misleading advertisement. Only other explanation is they are re heating pizzas and that’s why he “didn’t have XLarge.”

My husband and I dined in while on vacation in April. The diner is tiny and quaint and we loved it. The gentlemen working there were super friendly and helpful. We ordered a large Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza with mild wings and it was so good. The crust was so delicious and I'm a crust person. We definitely would go back and choose them over Pizza my Heart or a chain place!

Pizza was good wasn't blow my socks off great. Probably could have had compatible pizza with a lesser price but area of pizza is overly expensive for no reason. This is the best pizza for the best price. Done from scratch the sauce is missing a ingredient and they cook it perfect so the sauce is what's the bummer but for the price it's good. Service was great
