The Summerville history is very interesting, I even seen an image of a woman who may have been a relative..
The tour isn't set for children, I brought a 3 yr old and 9 yr old. They were bored from the start so I excused ourselves so the rest of the group could enjoy the tour.

We attended their fossil event today (8/5/23), which was informative and fun. The museum is also very nice and has several interesting displays about Summerville and the broader SC Lowcountry. The volunteers that run the museum are cheerful, helpful, and have an obvious love for the town of Summerville.
This is a fascinating little museum with a lot of history about Summerville. It was well worth the time to go see it.
Small museum where you can learn about the history of Summerville SC. The volunteer tour guides are very knowledgeable and very interesting. There is a small fee but well worth it!
I've always enjoyed History in its many forms possible. So being able to know the history of the town Í live in is awesome, and it's even better when you can learn all about it in such a likeable place and with the help of wonderful people.
This little museum is a hidden gem in downtown Summerville. Located by the Ice House Restaurant, it is a must-see when visiting Hutchinson Square. In addition to daily guided tours, they offer several special events each month, including children's history programs. The museum is a valuable resource to me as a mom and as a teacher.
