If you would like a local restaurant with the true Parisian you got it. Ps: Dessert is a must, you deserve ir.
Classic French bistro in Paris 6th district. Don’t expect beautiful or refined dish presentations but rustic and classic fare served with mash potatoes and other classic sides. Food is tasty well cooked and portions are generous. Service is correct compared to typical Paris standards.
The combination of time and a change of ownership has not been kind to this formerly wonderful bistro. While we were happy to find it on a Sunday night after wandering the 6th looking desperately for somewhere open to eat, there was much lacking in the meal, despite the efforts of a kind staff. Plates were sloppily prepared, sides were the same across several meals, and the food lacked the energy that it used to have. But the rose was decent and we had a good time. Eat there only if necessary.
Highly recommend this Bistro/Brasserie. Typically French, a bit on the High end side but well worth it. Had the Tarama to start, Mac & Cheese and Salade Niçoise. I've been here a few times and it's always excellent, pretty much anything on that menu is gonna be good! You also have the Tapas bar next door and the Seafood counter as well. Cest Tres tre bon Ici!
Classic Parisian Bistro that didn’t disappoint. A nice vibe, great location, great food at fair prices an a brilliant wine list…. Well worth a visit.
Still as good as ever; sure - not a bougie dining event but the food is lights out and the crowds have thinned somewhat over the years; two can easily get a table at 9p; it’s Parisian treat…!
Good food - the rest was a disaster.
Terrible experience. Haven’t had such a bad service for last many years.
Two young waiters were doing NOTHING at all time, cleaning the tables and eating the leftovers after the guests. Everyone was chewing something at all time.
Had to rase my hand every single time I wanted something. Twice, three times sometimes. Wrongly taken orders with an excuse that they don’t speak English?! We were their guests, but felt EXTREMELY UNWELCOMED.
Disgraceful for hospitality industry

Yes. Just yes. Glad we picked this out of all the Yves Camdeborde bistros (we had to decide on one for lunch). We’ve already dined at some really fine establishments in Paris but the food here blew us away(big shout to the scallops cooked as tripe). Definitely a MUST try if in Paris. Service was warm and accommodating too
When I found out it was Anthony Bourdain”s favorite bistro 9 years ago, I stood in line next to the leading lady from Law and order waiting patently to find out how good this bistro was. It was so amazing that I have to come back again this year. The black ink risotto with bacon & Shrimp is to die for! It is better than many Michilin restaurants ! Can’t wait to go back again!!
Absolutely incredible restaurant for experiencing good French food! Reasonable prices, great food and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend!
We went here as a final stop to our vacation in Paris and was not disappointed. Great atmosphere and great service of traditional cuisine. Prepare for a wait if you’re looking to dine later in the evening.
Had a great meal here tonight, the staff and manager were very good and happy to help with my ordering. The food was delicious. This place is definitely on my list of favorites when in Paris
This is an exceptional place to eat a special meal. Delicious carpaccio tomates and delicate, constructed dishes for the mains. Service is typically Paris - speak French, whatever you can, and smile. You’ll get the best service you could ask for.
Don’t pay attention to reviews that compare it to a decade ago - it was an entirely different establishment then. Their expectations would’ve been different, too.
Update: we’ve now visited in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Every time a winner.

Was here 10 years ago and really enjoyed the Pork Belly, beef steak and the food quality was really good THEN. Came back this time with my friends to revisit those good dishes but they were taken off the menu.
We had the pork knuckle with mash potatoes which was pretty yummy and crispy. The pork cheek with lentils in a pot was quite average. Too much lentils but the soup was quite tasty. Lobster penne pasta was tastiest of the 3 mains we ordered and probably the only one I would reorder again.
In terms of service experience, The female restaurant manager was still as angry and unfriendly as before. (Would have thought after 10 years service quality would improve). There were empty tables all around when we arrived for dinner but she told us we had to wait an hour. Given they don’t take reservations and we were the first in line, we didn’t understand why we couldn’t have those tables. Anyhow, we told her we will wait. Then she showed us to the bistro 2 doors down to wait. After about 30 mins, she came to get us and showed us to our outside tables. The male waiter who served us was also pretty rude and sarcastic towards us when we tried to ask him for recommendations etc. Somehow there seem to be preferential treatment from the manager and wait staff towards other local patrons than tourists.
Overall a lousy and disappointing experience. Won’t bother revisiting again. (And I’m really sorry to say this).
