For those within the court administration and judiciary who perform their duties diligently and treat everyone with fairness, respect, and equal justice, the public extends its thanks and honors you.
For others:
If the clerks were in the position of someone seeking public assistance from a public institution, would they be satisfied with the rudeness, indifference, incompetence, and crude treatment they themselves exhibit at this court, both in-person and over the phone? It seems to be a network of an inner circle where case information is shared, and judgments are cast based on how someone higher up "feels" about you, impacting every interaction within this system.

Please, just do your job without the attitude. As civil servants in customer-facing roles, you chose this profession, which requires treating people civilly. Additionally, work up to the publicly displayed times, as many have complained about this issue. There is clearly a need for improvement and better leadership.

My couple and I had no issues when coming for their wedding day. There was no wait at all they got very lucky. The officiant was extremely nice and also cared about the couple getting the best photos they could. There were no restrictions for photography and I even asked if she could step out of the way for the kiss and she was happy to.

Would recommend another location for ceremony. We were on time but ceremony wasn’t started until 10 mins in. It was so rushed like insanely fast. On my special day the officiant made a comment about there being others waiting to be married. Yikes save yourself the embarrassment and just do a park or something. So unprofessional I will never recommend this courthouse to anyone looking to get married.

Worst part of my Friday. Seeing the hours posted on the website as 8:30am to 4:30pm, I rushed out of work to reach the office in time. I was met by a kind security guard who helped direct me to the licensing office. Unfortunately, I was then met by an upset couple who informed me that the licensing office was closed. I grabbed a form and walked in to confirm they were closed. I was met by three older white women sitting at their desks. No one acknowledged me. I was met a nasty snide remark of "do you have a question?". I answered that I wanted to know if it was one form for marriage licenses. She said yes and that they reopened on Monday. It would be nice if hours were posted correctly and staff would be cordial with constituents. Extremely unprofessional.

Went to get a marriage license. Called beforehand and listened to the automated marriage license info (because God forbid you get to talk to someone in person when calling an office anymore) and it says the hours are from 8:30-4:30pm. Took off work early and drove 40 minutes in the snow to get there before 4:30. Filled out the application and then was told their office actually closes at 4, not 4:30pm, and that I should come back on Monday before 3:30pm to get it processed. So now I have to take off work again and drive all the way down there. How hard is it to place updated hours on the website so people don’t waste their time.

My husband and I got married here on 12/3/21 at the wonderful little chapel they have there. It was a busy day for weddings; however, they handled it beautifully. Everything went smoothly and perfectly. The clerk who married us was absolutely outstanding and we loved him! Very good experience.

Under 10 mins I had certified copies of my marriage license from 1997. Everyone was masked from the cops at the door to the people behind the counter.

If only all government agencies were run like this one. Highly efficient and pleasant. Couldn't ask for better customer service!

This is a warning to anyone getting married in Anne Arundel County. DON'T! Getting a marriage license will be the biggest headache. Way more of a headache than of planning a small COVID-19 wedding.

It took me over a month to receive a Marriage licence from this local government. After following their instructions online to the tee, the procedure was incorrect. They sent it back to us simply stating 'wrong form, would call but no phone number was provided-KH.,' Our phone numbers were written 4 times on their form. They were too lazy to actually review the document and put in any effort to their job.

We filled out the correct form, and over a month nothing was in the mail. It still took us calling everyday the week of the wedding to have them send us the license. They lied on the date they sent it out on the phone and this was proven on the stamp date processed through the post office. Every time we called them, they were extremely rude and unprofessional. On the phone they clearly showed they are unhappy with their jobs. They hung up the phone three times while I was still asking a question. 'Time will tell' with their good days.

In the end, we received our license on the day of our wedding. I am very surprised they even sent it to the correct address since they informed me they sent it to another state by accident.

I hope these people working at the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel Country find a new job and some happiness in their lives. I feel sincerely bad for the clerks because their supervisor obviously did not have customer service training in their training curriculum. Good luck to any future bride and groom that decides to get married through this County Clerk office. You will need it. .
