Prices are too high. I don't shop here much anymore.
Nothing is ever cheep in lynden... in general, lynden is overpriced on everything...
Service has gone down a bit, but inventory is always full. Prices have gone up, but that's happened everywhere. I shop here all the time.
Specifically Safeway:
It's okay, the difference between pre-covid and after is really noticable.
Good thing: cashiers are always the best, doesn't matter when you go, you will be treated well.
Not so good things: inadequate shelf talkers, proper rotation procedures aren't that great. Be careful when buying specials, two times we've gotten post best before dates on pork roasts. We are in Canada, I phoned, management didn't care. Emailed, management indifferent. Emailed corporate, no response.

I love shopping here. Friendly Employees, always ready to help. Today I shopped at the Grocery Outlet beside Safeway. Great Products ,Great Prices .
Good selection at the cost of narrow aisles. Just do not like width. Kinda "Joe vs the volcano "lighting, feel closed in. Will not make this my store in Lynden, way better options.
So busy any time of day. They have some of my special items other stores do not. Super convenient. Always packed. Very little help. Parking is terrible. Staff is always happy! Keeps me coming back.
Prices are still higher than Fred Meyer, but I do like the service you receive here. There's always a shopping cart available, and always someone to bag your groceries with a smile. Not a bad place to stop to get the items you're low on, otherwise shop at Freddy's - It's just cheaper!
