The staff are very nice and helpful. But they also give me chance to help myself, they handle my medicine and Dr’s appointments ver well. My room and meals are good. So I am happy here

Sunrise of Arlington has a great staff. Fardousa, Elsa, Senait, Patrick, Shalinda, and Sandra really showed they cared for my mother, Ivy. Also, it is a very homey atmosphere,, unlike some of the large facilities at other locations. Ashley, Rosalind, Wenta, and Zakia are fabulous administrators. I can't recommend this facility highly enough.

Sunrise of Arlington is a very welcoming and supportive place for a loved one with memory issues. The staff is caring, well-trained, and responsive to the needs of residents and their families. They make great efforts to involve and inform family in the care plan. I highly recommend Sunrise of Arlington for families needing memory care for a loved one. I toured several facilities in the area and chose this one for its small size and convenient location.

I feel like it’s the best assisted living community in the area. They have very friendly staff, and they are extremely attentive to their resident’s needs and concerns. I would definitely refer any of my loved ones there.

This is simply a wonderful place for my 87 year old uncle who has dementia. The staff are very friendly, caring, and bring joy to the residents whenever they can. It's clean, the food seems fine, and different activities are provided. It's also a Victorian like home which gives the residents a sense of belonging and easy to navigate. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to tend to aging residents who have a host of medical issues. A big thank you to all the employees there for taking such good care of my uncle. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

I have been very pleased with my sister's experience at Sunrise of Arlington. The outstanding feature of the place is the quality and quantity of the staff. They are caring and lovely people, chosen with obvious care and trained well. They are unfailingly cheerful and generous. The beauty of the surroundings also means a lot to my sister, whose aesthetic sense is vital, even though her other senses are diminishing.

When my father-in-law decided to move to the area to be closer to family, we put out a call to neighbors for best places to settle him, and Sunrise Arlington popped up as a top candidate.

Before settling him here, the family visited 10 facilities. I personally went to 9 facilities, spending many hours at each talking to the executive directors, sales people, head nurses, residents - and even stopping by for a meal and to join an activity.

Sunrise stood out above the others. Nate's leadership is exceptional. Fatima is not only an outstanding nurse, she is an outstanding human being. The space is intimate. There are specific staff assigned to each resident. The staff works like a real team. The facility was filled with light and windows. The staff were warm and caring. I spoke to a woman whose husband was staying there and she said that he had received only top notch care.

Other places I visited one by one began to disqualify themselves, for reasons such as the following:
*Did not see the staff working effectively as a team;
*A bed bug infestation that I did not have confidence would be resolved effectively;
*Over emphasis on sweets (my father-in-law is diabetic)
*Did not experience staff as caring (would my father-in-law just be a dollar sign?)
*Overpriced for service, onerous contracts, and overly aggressive sales tactics
*Dingy facilities
*No full time nurse
*Too many Department of Health violations
*Long wait lists
*Staff didn't have time for follow up with me (would my father-in-law fall through the cracks?)

Here is an example of what an extraordinary place this is. My father-in-law needed to be moved from a rehab center in Md to Sunrise Arlington. Fatima, the head nurse, made the one hour trek each way to the facility to personally evaluate him before his transfer. When there, she spent two hours with him - not just evaluating him, but getting to know him, laughing with him and bonding with him. So by the time he went to Sunrise, he already had a friend.

This is the kind of specialized service our family has come to expect. When I call or stop by - the staff assigned to him are available and accessible, happy to talk and brainstorm about how to make his time there better.

The one concern I have is a neighbor mentioned that staff don't always stay. I'm hoping that was before Nate's great leadership, and am crossing my fingers that this great team stays in place for some time.

Our family is blessed to have this great community in our lives.
