Highly recommend going here, especially if you are not visiting during Mardi Gras. They show you how they make the floats and you can take pictures with innumerable floats that are in storage. They have a free shuttle to downtown too. Just call them
It was really interesting to learn the history of Mardi Gras and see where they make all the props for the majority of parade floats. We saw a 15 minute film and were treated to a delicious piece of King cake. Then Mac led the tour. It was so cool to see four sculpture artists at work and a huge amount of old props. Mac answered all our questions. I especially loved the free shuttle van there and back. I highly recommend for any tourist. Buy your tickets on Groupon to save a few bucks.
The tour was very interesting and the tour guide was very good but we were the last tour of the day and when we went to use the restroom at the end of the tour we were told we had 45 seconds before they closed and the register was all cashed out so we couldn't buy anything from the gift shop. Perhaps they should close thirty minutes after the last tour of the day?! The attitude we got was very off-putting.
Firstly, buy a Groupon and you can save a little money 💲💲💲
We loved this experience. The artists weren't working today so I recommend going on a weekday. This is just a few of the floats they work on for Mardi Gras season.
Our guide Durell was very knowledgeable and you can tell he's very passionate about carnival season since he's a part of his own krewe.
Fun photo op and you get to learn how the floats are made which to me was very interesting.

Very informative and the floats are beautiful!
The tour guide rushed us and it was warm during the tour. We received a military discount but the ticket was still $17 each not sure what’s the regular price. The floats are amazing and the artwork was beautiful.

I want to show some of the pictures from our last trip to Mardi Gras World. The tour was cool. We were able to see the float making process from starting to finish. I would encourage anyone to go and see it while in New Orleans. We spent about an hour and a half there. The adult tickets were $22.00 and kids were $14.00.
This place was recommended for great souvenirs but would be better suited in the category of history or sight seeing. We got to see lots of old floats and special characters in the works that could be used in the Mardi Gras parade. The amount of cool displays was amazing but the warehouse was extremely hot! The tour guide was knowledgeable and answered all of our groups questions about the designs, concepts and timelines to create the floats. Overall good experience
A must see attraction in New Orleans. The history behind the floats is very interesting and our tour guide was very informative! Very fun for the family!
A very informative experience!! If you love a parade and admire floats then go here and experience this place!! We were there in August where the floats from the previous year Mardi Gras were still mostly in tact before they begin reconstruction on the new parades. Lots of photo opportunities and very informative tour Guides ours will be King next year in his Krewe :)
This was a fun end of the day activity. You do have to wait for a tour to enter. They have you watch a film on the history of the place and Mardi Gras. You also get to try a delicious piece of King cake before taking you to see the parade pieces. It is a fun place to visit. It's amazing seeing the size and detail put into each piece that they create.
Interesting tour. Our tour guide was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and had a great personality. She made the tour super interesting and entertaining. The tour was approximately one half hour to about an hour. The floats are very accessible for picture taking but you may want to keep little children close just because the sight is still an active preparation site for parade floats. Lastly that cake they offer you before you view the video in my opinion is great.
This place was cool. Got to see how they make the floats. They let you on 1 of the main floats to take pics. Our tour guide did very well explaining everything that goes on there. It's hot in there so be prepared.
A fun and unique tour! It takes around and hour and begins with a 15 minute video containing the history of Mardi Gras and it’s parades as well as enjoy a slice of King Cake. The video explains how parades started, who creates the floats, who works the floats and why. I had no idea there was so much to it before going and we enjoyed learning so much and then being able to tour where the history continues today. Depending on the time of day you tour, you might see artists at work, as well as a robot carving machine. After the guided and very informational tour, you get to wander through the warehouse at your leisure and see anything you missed or wanted to see more of. The value for what you pay is well worth it and a fun experience to enjoy. In the summer, bring a handheld fan to make it more enjoyable, it’s a little warm in the open air warehouse.
