Another quick stop for me, but worthwhile. Will try to explore more next time I'm up that way. Probably worth another visit.
Very decent dive bar, inexpensive for the location. Drinks were adequate, did not try the food unfortunately. Bartender Ruth is an OG, will be visiting again regularly.
Bartender was super rude. It might be good if you want your drink spat in. Unbelievable how this place has above 3 stars when cafe du soleil is right next door.
Very relaxing atmosphere and good drinking. Kind and helpful staff.
Probably the unfriendliest bar tender ever (the lady with long grey hair). I don’t know if she’s just racist (we were a bunch of tourists, well behaved though) or if she treats everyone like that… I was shocked! Could be quite a nice place otherwise.
Place is great in every way except;
The one regular who bounces from table to table. Voice, over all the music. You'll know who it is when you arrive. It's just annoying. And after a long day, I don't want to hear so much of that. Just want to drink, not listen to someone yell, about every thing.
Other than that guy, amazing place.

Got checked for covid status and regular ID at the door. Then moments later checked AGAIN by the lady bartender. I was told to pick another spot at the bar because the empty seat was taken, but of course no other areas at the bar were available. No suggestions were made where else to be seated, no assistance at all was given. So I left.
update; the scene at this bar almost got better post pandemic. the pool is just as serious and the crowd is a bit more lively then i remember. don't expect a group of college arsholes to pull up because they usually right away when they realize they're not new york enough to stay. didn't know they have a chess board in house.
strongly implore ya to get tacos from the mexican deli right down to the right- some of the best tacos in the city!!!!!
they're popcorn mix is tasty though. they throw goldfish and popcorners in it so it's salty and dope
great dive bar and the tenders are usually funny and brute. good spot for serious pool players
