I have lived in NYC for decades and I have never felt bone chilling terror the way that I did in the ramble. Absolutely avoid this area after 6pm, even if it’s light out, but especially when it is dark. You will not be able to see people coming. There is an extremely high level of criminality transpiring in the open air for all to bear witness to. The perpetrators are intimidating and have a complete disregard for the wellbeing of others. I cannot believe the danger of this area is such a secret. An absolute horror movie.
I was walking through here randomly and stumbled on what I’m pretty sure is a gay crushing spot… After sunset, all I kept seeing were men looking at each other in the way people look at each other in a club. As a girl I was getting those “what are you doing here” kind of looks and then it hit me where I was. I don’t judge but like seriously, in a public park? Other than that, it’s really nice to get lost in the woods.

Very nice foresty area. First time seeing fireflies! But also saw a huge cluster of rats which was frightening

Beautiful place to walk and ride your bike through. I wish I knew about it sooner!
Nice for a stroll and to escape the crowds. Visited on Christmas and found it beautiful but really can't wait to go again on spring or summer.
What a beautiful day for an adventurous walk with the granddogs: Eliot & Dakota.
Took a long walk in Central Park (*Seneca Village {SV: we will NOT be erased!})

You'd never know you're in NYC, except for the paved trails and the occasional sound of a siren. It's almost like being in the woods!
A quiet place in the middle of Central Park. Enjoy the greenery and the views of the city from this section.
Everything is beautiful in Central Park. These convoluted paths are amazing. Many places to sit but not enough garbage 🗑️ cans to toss our trash and ♻️ recyclables. I like that people mind their own business and let others enjoy their walk through the Ramble.
This a a great nature trail to explore. You don’t even feel like you are in a big city just out in the wilderness. A lot of wildlife and places to explore. You can literally get lost in here.
A wonderful forest-like oasis in the center of Central Park. It’s a lovely spot to sit and listen to the birds singing.
I love taking photos here. There's so much eye candy. If you enjoy bird watching, I recommend this area of Central Park.
The squirrels are unusually friendly here lol.

This was a fun hike. There is lots to see! It's secluded enough where you have a little peace and quiet, but felt safe enough to hike alone. Highly recommend checking out The Ramble.
We like talking walks through The Ramble during visits to Central Park. This is approx. 35 acres where you find a web of footpaths winding through bouldered and wooded areas of the Park. The Ramble is between The Lake and the 79th St. transverse street.
During a recent visit, we enjoyed seeing some trees in spring bloom. Quite a few small groups of birdwatchers wandering the grounds at this time as well. Its a good spot to just grab a park bench and just enjoy time passing by.
All in all, we enjoy The Ramble, it is one of the areas within Central Park where you really start to feel like you have escaped the city and are in a true rural setting.
