A great place to take the family or just a friend for a quiet picnic. The grounds are expensive and the Underground Railroad Experience Trail is educational and a good hike 2 miles one way; 4 miles round.
Outstanding places to visit. Under ground railroad stop. The Underground Railroad trail is part of the part. Restrooms available. Main house is open for tours. The stone barn is interesting. The police training facility for mounted officers are on the park grounds, but not open to the public. Multiple horses are in the fenced pastures. Prices is $5.00 with some discounts. Plenty of parking. Picnic tables available. Highly recommended.
Great place to visit for an educational journey into local History (Black & White.) To know that of individuals who assisted with freedom of those whom were inslaved, was desired as well as assisted during times of war.
We only went for a hike on the Underground railroad trail without a guide. Still, it was an interesting hike.
Amazing piece of history! I loved going into the barn and learning more about the underground RR. The trail is beautiful and scenic as well!
Nice to have this park in a close-in neighborhood, and that it allows horses. I walked the majority of it in about an hour; according to the map at the trail head, the trail appears to be about 1.5 miles. Easy walk in sneakers.
I had the trail mostly to myself, which was great. However, I wish there had been a map near the trailhead where I started, so I could have planned a reasonable loop instead of hiking out and back.
