Lifeguard Crew is Outstanding

On July 4th there was a short afternoon downpour. Families left the beach area. Many sheltered in their covered cabanas or in the cafeteria inner and outer covered areas.
When the rain stopped the weather returned to a day that beckoned children & adults into the water. The water they headed for was the Catalina Pool.
The pool always seems to have a good number of participants at any given time of day. The two lifeguards on their stands are always enough to observe and make everyone feel safe. One focuses more on the swim lane and diving area. The other on the entry steps on both sides of the sallow end of the pool and the areas under 5 feet deep.
On the afternoon of July 4th as the rain dissipated quickly, the massive number of pool participants was at a level above any I can ever recall. The lifeguard crew in clearly an outstanding move to ensure our safety added a third lifeguard working the side of the pool where the entry steps were farther away from the Lifeguard Stand responsible for this area. The crew members continued this addition rotation of staff for the rest of a very active afternoon at the Catalina Swimming Pool.
As a grandparent today, and a former pool lifeguard in my youth, I want to publicly acknowledge the outstanding performance of the Lifeguard Crew at the Catalina Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, NY

Week 32/ Room 408
I was involved in a terrible motorcycle crash the week before my arrival and found myself in the hospital. However, neither the owner of the unit or the management personnel would make any concessions. I had paid for the unit weeks before I the specified arrival. They would neither give me a partial refund or even credit for a future stay. I called them from my hospital bed to inform them of the situation and even sent a photo of the carnage. Disappointing, but I hope they enjoyed the money.

Clean and staff is very nice. The building is very retro and reminds me of Miami Florida..

Come on folks you no I travel great place to relax jump in the water feel the air in your hair drink eat swim get away from the laptop phone TV your boss work family that always want money when you get paid all the time great view of the ocean sun clouds laugh sign dance have fun folks you no what get busy do you for a change this places forks friendly atmosphere nice vacation spot you can run to the water at will any time you want folks if you are eating and you be like I'm going in let's do this you can swim any time you want here so if you are near here nice get away place until then enjoy your self peace

Just a fabulous time, everyone was so accommodating. The activities kept my children so busy, we enjoyed the facepainting and balloons. Annabel was so personable and sweet with children.. Thank you Catalina and your wonderful staff.
