Very nice park. Great views. Great place for a picnic, read, or have a romantic outing. I only gave 4 stars because the bathrooms are extremely disgusting. Need to be hazmat signs on the doors.

Great place to catch sunset, or park here to go on hikes around the waters edge.

They even have a "sometimes" open bathroom facility.

I've been coming down here since I was a teenager to get grounded and commune with nature and the water.

Nice place for biking, jogging. There are a few picnic tables, the restrooms were entirely closed, the parking lots were completely full(we went on a weekend).A nice place to wind down and relax with amazing views of the Potomac.

We went there again on Aug 7 (Sunday) and compared to the last time when we’re here,it was less crowded and there were a lot of parking lots too.

Great little park just down the street from Mt Vernon to hang out at, or use as a spot for a walk along the river.

There is a restroom here, although I am not 100% sure if it is open year round.

Getting out of the lot on weekdays is not too bad, but keep an eye out for traffic coming down from Mt Vernon.

The views here are spectacular! It is also a great launching place for using the Mt. Vernon Trail, which is what I primarily use it for. This, though, is a review of the park: The park here is a nice, small area for a picnic. It does have bathrooms that are open for most of the year but there are few picnic tables and the area next to the water is small and sandwiched between the Mt. Vernon Trail and the water. There is a little trail along the shoreline to the left and you can also walk the trail towards Mt. Vernon and find another little trail through the trees down to the water. People often go fishing by the bridge in that direction. We have, in the past, even taken the kids and gone wading by the bridge, but swimming in there can be dangerous because of the currents created by the tide going in and out of Little Hunting Creek (that's the waterway after you go under the bridge towards the houses).

Our family first visited 9/23/20. We had a pizza picnic at one of the tables there and explored the immediate area. Would be a great place to catch sunset. We left too soon. Many people know this and began rolling in as we were leaving. Bathrooms were closed because of covid. No portables on site.

Natural scenic view of the Potomac Shores. Best place for walking, Jogging, Biking and morning Meditation. The Morning breeze will fill your heart with pleasure and cheerfulness.

This is a beautiful, well-maintained park that offers a great view of the Potomac and the Mount Vernon pier on the Mount Vernon property. Facilities offer adequate parking, bathrooms and picnic tables. This is a great place to park to run or bike on the Mount Vernon Trail. There are fitness stations immediately to the east of this park on the Trail. There are picnic tables with good shade available and a fairly large open field to let your pet(s) run around. There aren't any bbq piits and I am not sure about the regulations on grilling activities at this park. Picnics here would be ideal for smaller groups, but larger groups should consider the Fort Hunt Park just a short distance away.
