Stumbled across this place accidentally, and honestly I’m so glad we did. This place was not only a surprise but it was sooooo good. Isan food is my favourite region of Thai food and it really didn’t disappoint.

It was a perfect place to dine at anytime but this time especially because it was our last night. It even had traditional thai desserts, the black jelly one was especially good and such a good modern take to a classic thai dessert.

Can’t fault this place at all. Loved it.

Nice Thai restaurant near Sala Daeng… just walkable distance from Silom complex exit.. good choice of thai dishes at reasonable price… they also serve alcohol and soft drinks… worth a try if you are in Bangkok in Silom area.

It's a nice restaurant with a cosy seating. The food is delicious! We tried the pork neck and the beef cooked in cow blood. Overall, it was a fine experience, although from the outside the place doesn't look fancy.

I recently dined at Somtum Der, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing Thai restaurants I have experienced. Despite the reputation and Michelin Guide listing, my visit left me thoroughly unimpressed.

The portions were meager, and the prices were high, easily double the average for Thai cuisine. Even worse, the flavor of the dishes was a mere 3 out of 10. It is disheartening to see a place with such potential fall short.

To put it succinctly, if you are entertaining out-of-town friends who are not accustomed to authentic, spicy Thai food and are seeking an aesthetically pleasing restaurant with good service, then this might be the spot for you.

However, I can not fathom how this place made its way into the Michelin Guide.

Our bill came to nearly $30 for three tiny dishes, two waters, and a single Coke, with an additional 10% gratuity and 7% taxes.

This restaurant experience undoubtedly ranks as the WORST VALUE FOR MONEY I have encountered since I moved to Thailand.

Super cute two level shop house restaurant focused on Isan regional cuisine. A wonderful variety of som tum options, as well as mains, snacks and starters. Food is nicely presented by knowledgeable staff. Ingredients are high quality and fresh. I tried the vegetarian som tum which was crisp and fresh. It was served with a side cup of fresh veggies, and basil to add in to build your own final version. Recommend the lemongrass herbal tonic drink with a slightly sweet offset to the spicy chili in the som tum. My favorite seat is one of the few outside overs along the sidewalk.. Great people watching location! I have made this a regular stop when I visit Bangkok and will definitely be back.

Love the service and great atmosphere.

Food was great as well. The fried chicken, grilled meats and sausages were all great.

I like the greens served in a tiny basket, cucumbers and carrots were crunchy and tasted fresh

Pricey, but so so so good
So yeah, it’s a bit of a chain, but don’t let that out you off. This, my friends, is the real deal. Focus on the Isan-style stuff (the rest is good too, but you can get that in other places) it’s why you’re here. The salads, punchy pungent , and outstanding, are off the charts.
Get anything with cockles in it, you won’t regret it. Hell, get anything, it’s just plain good

The portions aren't small and it will be great if you have a bigger group of people so that you can share more variety of food, as they have alot to offer. The papaya salad was appetising, coupled with the fried chicken and fried pork neck, it's just nice. The instant noodles was flavourful. Tom yum soup was creamy and tasty. To add, a friendly service crew and a clean restaurant definitely makes this restaurant a place worth trying!
