Yummy Temaki sushi spot in the West Village. We didn’t make a reservation, and they were fully booked inside, but they were able to seat us outside immediately. There are no outdoor heaters, so it was pretty chilly (but that was kind of on us).

The miso soup was unique and filling. The txakoli wine was AMAZING- incredibly light and perfectly dry. We ordered the signature sets- the temaki is served “open-style” in little taco trays. The nori has this plastic covering that you have to remove off each piece which keeps the nori crispy. My favorites from the set were the tuna poke and coconut shrimp.

Overall the sushi was good and it was an enjoyable experience! I didn’t love the process of taking the plastic off, but simultaneously, it did keep the Nori crispy which was good. It felt like a trendy dining experience– I would recommend checking this spot out! The service was excellent.

Food was great, one member of our party had a bit of trouble with removing the plastic wrapper on their rolls but they got the hang of it by the third one.

Drinks were good but not sure that they were quite worth it, honestly tasted like juice. Tasty but seemed low in alcohol.

We had the signature and classic sets, everything was great and although it was a tiny bit disappointing that one of the rolls in the signature set had no fish (black sesame cucumber roll?), it still tasted very nice.

5 stars for food and chefs, - minus 1 for my waitress. I went to this location on Sunday early afternoon. Regularly, for lunch or brunch most of the people won't have a big meal, that should be understanding. I was only me and I order one drink and a classic set of hand rolls. I wasn't impressing with my waitress service at all since she took my order. First, she made me feel I order too less, never came to check if I need anything else, when she saw I have the last bite she came and asked then quickly put the bill. I didn't finish my drink yet and I feel she want me to finish that right away and get out. You can tell the customer almost finish everything, why you need to rush it??? I still gave her 20% tips to showed her how to treat another people but not judging what they order.

The quality of food was good, and chefs are very professional. I hope the restaurant will train their waitress better.

Lastly, I live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I wanted to go to Nami Nori in Williamsburg for long time, but I still didn't have a chance so at this time I was in West Village, Manhattan and I decided to try. Only thing that will bring me back is the food.

I got a signature set and two more dishes. Every single bite was heaven. I forgot to take a photo after eating the first one.. The seafood was very fresh and melted in my mouth. Flavours were unique but harmonised well with different ingredients. I wish my stomach was bigger so I could eat more. I will come back to this place when I visit NY next time.

Fast and nice service. Very fresh and very tasty dishes. A great alternative to rolled sushi. There are also vegan alternatives. The mussels are highly recommended. You can sit inside or outside. A reservation for the evening is recommended. Value for money is justified. A visit is definitely worth it.

walking in, this looks like a brunch place with a well-lit, light colored interior that mostly has small tables and bar seating. you know a place is good when people dine there solo.
best for duos.

we ordered the signature set which came with five unique, scrumptious hand rolls. the seaweed was crispy, fish was fresh, and seasoning full of subtle, complementary flavors.

super fun to eat and well-paced.

We ordered the furikake fries, the signature set, and the classic set. We were very satisfied with the quality of the ingredients and found the taste combinations to be unique and flavorful. Would definitely recommend reserving a seat at the bar for the full temaki experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was great and the decor was tasteful.

I have only 1 word for the food - WOW !! I absolutely loved the food. The vegetarian set was awesome. The mushroom dip was so tasty. I liked the vibe of the restaurant. Take a table at the sushi counter instead of the tables, it’s easier to get and you can see the chef prepare everything right in front of you. Make sure you buy a set menu and then add on whatever else you feel like. It’s worth the money !
