This is definitely not my favourite airport, because I will always remember it for its record breaking, never ending queues. However the staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful. The airport is well connected by trains, underground and buses, but Kansai International is over an hour away from Kyoto. Lounge key lounges available.
My new worst airport ever. In my 30 years travelling, I have never seen such a huge queue on departure gate. I ask the lady if better I go eat and come back later, she told me it’s always like this. Pure hell. If you were in Kyoto, better you go back to Narita, maybe you’ll have time to eat something and or do something else than standing for 2h.
Easy access by train but inside I can't say the same things. You have to wait for queues and also. There are limited sitting areas. After check-in restaurants are also limited that's why I recommend not going there hungry. The building under maintenance may be improved after that.

Kansai International Airport is the main international airport serving the Greater Osaka region of Japan and is the closest international airport to the cities of Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe. This is a project built on an artificial island. The airport is large and modern. There are also many shops selling food and souvenirs.
Very clear and well organized airport, the processes were stringent yet smooth and as someone who isn’t fluent in Japanese, I had minimal difficulty. Food options here were decent too!
Great airport. There was a lack of shops and especially places to dine in which was disappointing.

It is lovely to see the KIX in its 100% activities after Covid19.
It is very organized, clean and amazing airport. It has smooth immigration services. The maintenance of luggage is impressive. Your luggage will not have any damage here because of their carefulness, however, this happens in almost every airport in Japan. Muslim can find the Prayer room here.

It is a really nice and modern airport. A lot of high tech solutions and I love that the train goes into the airport. It is very clean and has all the amenities everyone needs. That said, they squeezed all people into 3 security lines that made it very crowded and chaotic. There are no food options in the terminal after passport check except for Starbucks.
Ever clean and efficient terminal. Even though some of its part are under maintenance, they are still able to keep the place clean, peaceful and apt for passengers waiting to fly.
There are several restaurants and cafés inside and there are spacious waiting terminals.
Everything’s cool here. Plus it is connected to a train station which is very convenient for the masses.
