Came here for brunch. Good food and good portion size. Environment is clean and neat. The only down side is hot HK milk tea in a thick metal cup instead of ceramic cup, and it’s $ cash only.

Food is good, portions are big (you will likely have leftovers), very reasonably priced for 2024 ($40 before tips for two entrees, a stir fry veggies and two drinks). It is a bit annoying that it's cash only. I get that credit card fees are expensive, but maybe allow Venmo or something.

Native HongKonger here.
I wanted some baked rice but Kong Shik Tong (KST) was too crowded. I ordered the same thing and it tastes pretty authentic. The space is a lot more spacious than KST. The main difference between the 2 baked rice is, KST's has eggs in it.

The service is superb. IMO the tablets are unnecessary in a space this small with so many staff.

A lot of people give this place 1 star and I think they are either over critical, or may not be familiar with HK Cafe style food, or both.

I had a few friends visiting the city and this restaurant has always been my go to to showing tourists an authentic hongkongnese cafe, which is hard to find outside of NYC.

My goal was to order a variety of dishes that best represent what my family grew up eating. Macaroni, spam, and egg might've been the biggest surprise for them, but all of our favorites was the crispy bun and condensed milk. Although not the most authentic (the original dish is the peanut toast with condensed milk but due to my friend having a peanut allergy, we had to find a substitute), this turned to be better than the original. The bun was so crispy but also fluffy on the inside. Then, the condensed milk was the cherry on top that we all needed, adding a hint of sweetness to the dish.

I’ve NEVER been anywhere else with such a big menu. Leaves you at a loss. My go-to is the tomato egg as pictured. Prices are cheap, love the huge selection of drinks and desserts as well. Very efficient service. Side note the bathroom is quite maximalist and fancy.

Chicken was dry and it comes with not enough sauce on rice. Noodles was hard but we were told it is traditional Hong Kong style. First bill was wrong (different table) and tip 18% added without asking.

I usually order from them and their food and prices are decent. We wanted to order chicken and sweet corn with rice but this time they told us they don't have that. Eventually one of the other wait staff managed to get us the order. However, the sauce was too sweet! I've had this order many times before and it's been delicious but this time the sauce killed the dish. Made it very difficult to eat and a large portion of that dish was wasted. Very disappointed.

We walked in here after crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, without a reservation but we were shown a table. At first, we weren't overly sure we felt quite welcome, with us being tourists in Chinatown but we were treated very well by our server who seemed friendly. If you do go here, myself and my travelling companions highly recommend the sweetcorn & mushroom (?) soup I think it was. Wow, it was absolutely delicious!

Came to eat here in the morning and was really just open to eat anything. I ordered their soy sauce fried noodle and steam sticky rice. It was overall good. The noodles were a little too saucy and I had to keep drinking out my delicious milk tea to not get tired of it. Service is really were they could improve. It took them about 15-20 minutes to take my order even though the place was not busy. I also had to get the attention of the front of house to get my check since no one ever went back to check if I wanted to order anything else or was done with my meal. Would come back but maybe not during breakfast time…

Cantonese restaurant in Chinatown, NYC. We arrived at 8:30 pm on a Friday night. The waitstaff informed us that the kitchen closes in 8 minutes so we have to order fast. I felt like that set a sour tone for our meal as we felt rushed to eat as fast as possible.

We had the rice roll with special sauce, Macau style rice + meat, and some kind of broad noodle + beef. I thought it was all tasty. They charge 5% extra if you pay with credit card, so be aware. I thought that the prices of most dishes was quite reasonable for the portion sizes!

Moderately priced with big menu but underwhelmed with the flavor. I had to ask for Siracha (which I don’t even like really) to go with the fried noodles. The fish cake soup and beef curry was a good option. Service was friendly and quick and they do take cars just with a 5% fee.

‼️Cash only here‼️
We had breakfast/brunch and I like it🙌🏻
All meals come with a drink. Can't beat the price....🥺

My friend's favorite was that crispy condensed milk bun! So tasty.
The porridge might be bland for some people, but it reminded me of what I ate in Hong Kong. If you would like a stronger flavor, I would suggest you have the satay beef or tomato beef dishes.
I also like the combination with rice rolls and sesame sauce 🫶🏼 (note: no meat inside)

There were lots of Cantonese elderly when we went there. I believe these were also what they used to eat in HK and I can tell they enjoyed it❤️‍🔥

Typical cha chan tang food but surprisingly decent service and reasonably clean bathroom.

Like all of chinatown, bring cash for a discount!

I am fan of the wings. wasn't a fan of the pork chop dishes cause the cut of meats used. I like the noodles, it had a good greasey stir fry taste.
On top of hk cafe food, they also have another menu full of "modern Asian fusion"

This location opens late compared to the rest of Chinatown.

This is a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. It charges 5% surcharge on credit card. There are the Chinese and English menu, the quality is slightly different. We ordered 3 fried rice, the one in a blue plate is on the English menu which is $24 while the one on Chinese menu is $10. To be fair, the one on English menu is better, but like a 2.5x more, which does not make much sense. The quality of dishes is ok, and not much surprised, which can be found easily in other restaurants nearby. One advantage of the restaurant is that it is spacious and does not have many customers.
