We stopped by this alley twice. Once to grab a few drinks and once to grab something to eat. Both times where great experiences.
This review is not for the bowling alley as much as the surrounding patrons and lewd bar dwellers and lurch around like cackling sea hags at the bowling alley in santa cruz..please ladies that patron the santa cruz boardwalk and stalk the men their in and including the BOWLING ALLEY..women like myself and my children on a trip to Santa Cruz are INFURIATED by your disgusting parading, bending down, soliciting, etc of our men folk!! My husband and teenage child were solicited at the bowling alley by scantily clad very young ladies that appeared to be at the very least between the age of 12 and 16!!! Due to the recent news in the santa cruz area that has been plaguing young ladies illegally, we will not be returning to santa cruz until this horrible display is irradicated. Santa Cruz should be for families, CHILDREN, and for people that want to be a kid for a day..it is a VACATION SPOT!! My family went bowling, and we had to leave from the bowling alley and the incident almost destroyed our family vacation!
LITTERLY THE BEST PEOPLE EVER. i was short on money for our game and a guy named natan offered to pay for us. Another dude named isaiah gave us a free drink becuase we were super thirsty and a few bucks short. Give these guys a raise because they are ultimate gs
Picked up a "club" sandwich to go. 1, A club sandwich is supposed to have 3 layers of nicely toasted bread, our sandwich had just two pieces and was barely toasted. 2, a club sandwich is supposed to have bacon & avocado ( and said was included on the menu description) but both of which were missing as well as lacking a decent amount of lettuce and dressing. 3, the meat on the sandwich was flavorless and reminded us of bargain store bought cheap turkey. For $20, this sandwich was a joke and a complete rip-off. If feel like if we had said we were eating in, we probably would have gotten a better meal, but this felt like highway robbery.
Fun place. I've been going there since the 80s, when I was a kid - back when it was "Surf Bowl" and it's essentially the same. Only real difference is now it's a bit more modernized for younger crowds... which is probably a good thing. I went on a Weds night and it was fairly busy, but weekends are generally pretty packed.
All in all it's a good place for bowling - fun for you and your family and or friends whether you're in your late teens or late 70s (I've taken my mother in law before). Good stuff!

It's a nice bowling alley and right across the street from the boardwalk but in my opinion, well this is for all bowling alleys, I wouldn't eat there since you are mixing bowling balls that people have stuck their fingers in and eating, so a few places nearby that are good are Riva's, (That's on the wharf), Pizza My Heart, and Stagnaro's, (Stagnaro's is also on the wharf).
Terrible manager. So rude. We respected her age being double our age but she gave us no respect. She was just ready to fight and yell at people. We asked nicely for the lighter ball and she was so rude like unreasonably rude. I have a medical note that verifies I have a very bad right shoulder and she yelled at me saying I shouldn’t be bowling if I have a back problem. She didnt let me even talk. If I can avoid any injury by simply using a lighter ball it shouldn’t be that hard to be given that. A simple request. I understand that could be the policy but she could’ve heard me out and refused nicely rather than yelling at me telling me that I shouldn’t be out with my friends having fun. No one yelled at me like that not even my own mother! No wonder why the employees were terrified last time when they tried to help us and being a little empathetic with my situation.
would definitely be more fun if it wasn’t one thousand degrees in there. fix your AC? employees say it’s been broken for a while.
Nothing fancy, but great for a gathering of friends or yourself to bowl and enjoy some old rock playing in the background. Super staff. Located across the street from the Boardwalk, hours shift with the season. Fair prices for games and shoes. Friendly group of locals and tourists. Mix of snacks and munchies. Connect to a bar that has evening karaoke.
The experience was an amazing and fair price as well. For about 5 bucks per adult and shoe rental. like 5 bucks too was a pretty amazing time for a good price I feel. We had to wait a while because they're a nightly league that starts at who knows what time but they are done by. I do know they allow you to start renting at 8:45. Was a nice switch when they turned in the glow night but once the movie started it started to distraction so we left.
Thank you for a great time, lots of fun and be memories, and on top of that, BRAND NEW SHOES!!! Mine looked as if they were freshly unboxed and had never been worn!
Edit: if you are sat directly in front of the purchase counter on a Thursday, be sure to bring noise cancelling headphones, ear plugs, or prepare to scream the rest of your conversations as the decibel level seemed illegal. It was louder than a club. I've never shouted at the top of my lungs in a bowling alley for an hour for the sake of the DJ. We ended up leaving. We had fun but it was bad juju. Everyone left with a headache.

Went there for a team building effort. Loved the experience but I wish they had more bowling ball sizes to pick from. The ball sizes for people with big hands want that good but still a great experience
Coaster's inside Boardwalk Bowl was a phenomenal experience for the Patron ladies! Robert, the bar manager was adept, hospitable and his team provided the red carpet service. Additionally, Chef Rojelio made the best pizza to inspire us for a night of tequila sampling and karaoke!! Who knew, that such an amazing staff were also the next American Idols???? This is the place to be for safe monumental fun and great people!
