Had a great night ride.. Lots of first time night riders on the ride.. And we all look forward to another!! Will be checking this ride out again during the day as well!!
There is a lot of uphill. If you are not familiar with the area, some of the trails are hard to find the starting point.
I didn't get to see much of the trailhead. We were here doing a job and dropping off a group of runners. We had to wait a couple hour at the trailhead for this group to return. I had to use the bathroom and there is a porta potty building at the start of the trailhead. OMG, I walked in and literally had to walk out in two seconds. The smell was so.......... Bad that there was no way I could tolerate it. It made me start gagging. Now that is pretty bad. Outhouses don't have to smell this bad if they are properly maintained. It's just a sore eye to what can be a beautiful place.
Great place to park for mountain biking and hiking. There's a bathroom and access to trails.
There are many trails off the main drag. This trailhead provided a wide path for walking with gradual progressive uphill incline, only encountered occasional bikes, and had plenty of shade before 11a. Parking lot was full but side of road offered adequate parking and room for vehicle traffic.
Great for us, was fairly easy-moderate. took this trail on our honeymoon. Loved the stream beneath the bridge, was so serene and relaxing
Good ride, it was nice getting some warm up on the double track and not too busy. Parking can be difficult but still great riding. Will go back next time i'm in Asheville.
No overnight camping in “experimental forest” of a national park? Asheville is now a “dead zone”. Very happy to leave here and not come back. Traffic, aggressive drivers, unhappy people, self destructing like all other short term vampire cities, destroying all in its path, leaving a hot mess of waste, poverty, and mental illness
